Nieuw in ons assortiment: Domaine De Souch. Aan de voet van de Pyreneeën rond de Atlantische oceaan op een hoogte van 332 meter boven zeeniveau. Hier worden de loepzuivere strakke wijnen van het huis Domaine De Souch geproduceerd. Wijnmaakster Yvonne Hegoburu was 60 jaar oud toen ze besloot om hier wijn te gaan maken in 1987. Ze was toen één van de eerste die volledig biodynamisch ging werken in de regio. Tegenwoordig heeft ze 7ha grond, de wijngaarden staan op het zuiden en zijn grotendeels beplant met Petit Manseng en Gros Manseng. De wijngaarden zijn sinds 1994 volledig biodynamisch gecertificeerd. De opbrengsten zijn hier laag, nooit meer dan 30hl per hectare en de grond bestaat uit zware "flinty'' klei genaamd poudingues, deze combinatie zorgt voor intense wijnen met een hoge zuurgraad en bijzondere mineraliteit.

De zoete wijnen van De Souch worden 15 dagen na de oogst van de droge wijnen wijn geplukt. De wijnen hebben een mooie balans tussen gedosserd restsuiker en een messcherpe zuurgraad. In de jeugd nog mooi fris en kan het fijn gedronken worden als aperitief (vergelijkbaar met een Duitse riesling kabinett).  Naarmate de wijn oudert wordt hij mooi rijp met fijne aroma's van bloesem, kweepeer, acacia en rijp steenfruit.

I received 2 of these products . One is good. The other lid was not good to grind. I had to purchase from a different seller and take the lid off that one to exchange for the lid that would not grind. Nothing would come out no matter how much I tried adjusting the lid. So I was actually out of money for having to reorder another salt/pepper grinder. The one that worked I give 5 stars the one that didn’t I wish I could get a refund on but it’s probably too late to receive a refund. I didn’t try it out until it was too late for a refund.
