These Black and White Fibre Pads serve as the critical first stage of physical water treatment within BPA-free plastic dome systems. They are designed to intercept raw water before it enters the primary multi-stage filter, extending the lifespan of the main filtration media.
By capturing heavy sediment and suspended particulates at the very top of the system, these pads ensure a cleaner, more efficient flow rate for gravity-assisted bottled water coolers and standalone purifiers.
Hardware Note: This product includes only the replacement black and white fibre pads. The external BPA-free plastic dome housing is not supplied with this specific item.
Dual-Pad Filtration Specifications
The system utilizes two distinct pads stacked together inside the top bowl to provide a graduated filtration barrier.
- Stage One (White Pad): Functions as the primary mechanical barrier. It targets heavy sediment, rust, and physical particles down to 5 microns in size.
- Stage Two (Black Pad): Functions as a secondary carbon-infused barrier. It refines the water further, offering fine particulate filtration down to 0.5 microns while providing initial chemical adsorption properties.
Installation & Maintenance Protocol
Proper orientation is crucial for optimal performance and visual monitoring. The white pad must always be placed directly on top of the black pad.
Positioning the white pad on top allows users to easily view dirt and sediment accumulation. Both fibre pads can be removed, rinsed thoroughly under clean water, and placed back into the dome to maintain a steady flow rate between full replacements.
For complete system hygiene, these pads must be entirely replaced every 6 months, coinciding with the standard replacement schedule for your primary water filters.

Do these pads replace my main multi-stage water filter?
No. These fibre pads act as a pre-filter. Water flows through these two pads first to remove heavy sediment and rust before moving into the main six-stage filter cartridge.
Can I wash and reuse these filter pads?
Yes. You can regularly remove both the white and black pads to rinse away accumulated dirt and sediment, which helps maintain water flow. However, they must be completely replaced every 6 months.
Why does the white pad need to go on top?
Placing the white pad on top serves as a visual indicator. It makes it easy to see when heavy dirt, rust, or sediment has built up, letting you know exactly when it is time to remove and rinse the pads.
