The Fender Highway Series Dreadnought expands on the furthering of Fender's acoustic build quality and technology. This all-new ergonomically pleasing dreadnought is built to rival acoustics twice its size, along wit featuring a cutting-edge Fishman Fluence acoustic pickup system for uncompromising live sound.
The Highway Series Dreadnought features a 2.25" depth D-body styled similarly to Fender's King acoustic, with a modern reissue in the King Vintage seen in 2023 as well. This all-Mahogany body features contours at the lower bout and back, combining a familiar acoustic style with enhanced comforts. Under the hood, Tapered Floating X bracing ensures stability of its Mahogany top. A polyester satin matte finish is applied throughout the body.
Electronics are within easy access on the Highway Series Dreadnought, with proprietary controls for Volume and Contour for its Fishman Fluence acoustic pickup located conveniently on the guitar's top. This all-analog Fluence Core pickup is designed to emulate pure acoustic tone and lively resonance, allowing for a deceptive response when compared to a true full size acoustic body. 9v battery access for the Fluence system is conveniently located on the back of the body.
The Highway Series Dreadnought also features a satin finished "C" shape mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and 6-in-line California style headstock. It also employs Fender Classic Gear tuners which are designed to restring like a vintage-style Fender electric, but with the installation and security of a modern Hex screw.
Other key features include chrome hardware throughout, the Fender Modern Viking bridge, and bolt-on construction. Out of the factory, Fender equips the Highway Series Dreadnought with Fender Dura-Tone 860CL Coated Phosphor Bronze strings, .011-.052 gauges. A Fender Deluxe 1225 gig bag is included.
