Dive into 'Everything at Once: Postmodernity 1967 - 1992,' an exhilarating exploration of the dynamic cultural shifts that defined a generation. This essential read delves into the complex tapestry of postmodern life, compellingly reflecting on issues like right-wing populism, identity politics, and cultural conflicts that resonate today. Published by Hirmer Verlag GmbH in 2024, this stunning volume highlights key moments from the dawn of the information society to the vibrant age of subcultures, disco, punk, and techno-pop. With exclusive insights into architecture, cinema, design, art, and philosophy, it examines how new media has shaped global consciousness and the relentless quest for self-realization.

The book showcases spectacular examples from the tumultuous years between 1967 and 1992, where modern activism, eclectic aesthetics, and the cultural revolution paved the way for contemporary discourse. The text artfully navigates through notable trends like Memphis furniture and the rise of lavish institutions such as museums, becoming the new temples of art and culture. The narrative poignantly revisits crucial milestones, culminating in the historic opening of the Bundeskunsthalle in 1992, precisely when the Cold War thawed and Fukuyama famously suggested 'the end of history.' Yet, as this profound analysis reveals, the story did not conclude there; the spirit of postmodernism continues to linger and provoke debate. Whether you're a scholar of art, history, or current societal clashes, this meticulously crafted book is a must-have addition to your collection, offering a powerful lens through which to understand our current moment and its complexities.

Another quality Quick Start book
Format: Paperback
Haven't gotten that far into the book yet, but so far the material is good. IMO, the book would be far better if it had a spiral binding like the Python Quick Start books I bought. Programming type books are much easier and better to use when they lay flat. This would probably make the book more expensive to purchase, but would be well worth it. The contents of the book are well laid out starting with simple basic topics and progressing through the more advanced ones. The chapters on Asynchronous JavaScript and JQuery were, IMHO, light in the amount of information provided. The book is designed/written to provide a "quick start" on JS, but I think that there could have been more details provided for these two topics. All in all this book provides an adequate introduction to doing JS coding. Any plans on doing an advanced Javascript book to cover topics like map and other advanced programming constructs?

Perfect book for beginners
Format: Paperback
I started designing my website using another book that covered HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I got pretty good with HTML, passable with CSS but could not get my head around JavaScript. Little code snippets that illustrated various functions just didn’t do it. This book is totally different. Using downloadable example code and the free Visual Studio Code editor, the author takes you step by step through slowly constructing a complete JavaScript-driven website. I found writing and debugging my own code to greatly enhance my understanding of the material. And while I’m yet to get to that stage, being able to do full-stack development using Node.js and Ajax is a major plus. This is the perfect book for beginners wanting to learn JavaScript. Highly recommended.

A great book you’ll need every day for your entire web developer career!
Format: Paperback
This book is great! I have been working on becoming a web developer and this book is a major help in filling in the gaps from other resources I’ve used. Many other resources don’t really explain why some things work the way they do, but this book explains it all! You’ll always want to have it around because it’s great to go back and reference when you’re having trouble. I highly recommend all of the Quick Start books! I’ve got the HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Python, and SQL books that I use daily! If you want to become a web developer or programmer, start with the HTML/CSS book and then branch off from there. You won’t regret it! They are all very beginner friendly and easy to understand. 💙
