Explore the gripping narrative of 'Trinity', an outstanding B-format paperback that delves into the intricate world of atomic espionage and nuclear physics. Authored by distinguished nuclear physicist Frank Close, this compelling book unveils the lives of Rudolf Peierls, the bomb's metaphorical father, and Klaus Fuchs, the atomic spy whose actions forever altered the course of history. Set against the dramatic backdrop of pre-war Nazi Germany, World War II, and the Cold War, 'Trinity' intricately traces the bond between Peierls and Fuchs, a relationship steeped in genius and betrayal. The book skillfully intertwines scientific explanations with the espionage narrative, making it a must-read for anyone interested in the history of nuclear weapons and the ethical dilemmas surrounding them. With extensive research and a captivating storytelling style, 'Trinity' explores Fuchs’ motivations, his pivotal role in the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos, and his subsequent return to the UK where he contributed to Britain’s nuclear weapons program. The tension mounts as Close examines how the brilliant scientific community at Harwell became embroiled in the pressing security challenges of the era. This is not only a story of science and security but also one of intrigue and personal relationships. 'Trinity' boldly reveals how the Cold War espionage landscape was shaped by these pivotal figures. A thought-provoking exploration of morality, loyalty, and the consequences of scientific endeavor, 'Trinity' is essential for history enthusiasts, students of nuclear science, and anyone fascinated by the complexities of espionage.Shipping Notes

great book
Format: Kindle
My 6 year old daughter really likes it. She wants to read #2. “I liked the ghosts,” she said. There’s sweet relationships between the characters and a fun mystery.

Get Them Excited to READ
Format: Paperback
I bought this book for my daughter's 8th birthday. She reads on a mid-third grade level and I needed some chapter books that would hold her interest. She is big on starting books but they "bore" her and don't hold her attention for 100 pages of text. I thought I'd buy her a couple of "starter" books so if she liked them we could continue the series.
She is really into Monster High right now so I thought this series might interest her. I was right. She has told me daily how much she enjoys this books and actually looks forward to her 20 minute reading time both at home and at school. Every night during bath time she tells me what she read that day.
As a book lover I am so excited to see her finally showing some interest in reading! I knew if I found the right material I could get her hooked.

Great entry-level chapter book. My students enjoy it. Some very difficult vocabulary and made-up words.

... 8 year old son is having a lot of fun with this book
Format: Paperback
My 8 year old son is having a lot of fun with this book. It has a good balance of illustration and text. He has struggled to read and is considered average for his age. We have tried to get him interested in a series and have purchased many other books. Since reading Haunted library #1 he has requested the next book in the series. He also likes the Yeti files and is waiting on pins and needles for the next in that series to be released. It is such a relief to finally get him excited about reading!
