Des Moines Demons Hoodie - Vintage Defunct Baseball Teams - IowaThe Des Moines Demons, based in Des Moines, Iowa, carried one of the more traveled names in Midwest minor league baseball. The Des Moines Demons, based in Des Moines, Iowa, carried one of the more traveled names in Midwest minor league baseball. The original Demons were a Western League team that ran from 1925 through 1937, winning back-to-back championships in 1925 and 1926. Those squads were strong by any measure: the 1925 club went 98-70, one game ahead of the Denver Bears, and put six players on the Western League All-Star team. The name disappeared when professional baseball left Des Moines after the 1937 season, then sat dormant for more than three decades.

In 1959, the Demons name was revived for a Philadelphia Phillies affiliate in the Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League, playing at Sec Taylor Stadium. That first Three-I season was the best of the three: manager Chuck Kress led the club to a 78-55 combined record across the two-half format, winning the second half, before losing the championship to the Green Bay Bluejays 3 games to 1. Cal Emery led the Three-I League that year with a .323 average, 27 home runs, and 129 RBI, earning the league MVP award. The 1960 team went 64-74 under Andy Seminick. Ray Culp, who would later win 122 games in the major leagues for the Phillies and the Boston Red Sox, pitched that season with a 6-7 record and 6.59 ERA. Pat Corrales, who later caught in the majors for a decade and managed the Phillies in 1982 and 1983, also came through the Des Moines roster.

The 1961 season was a steep decline: Des Moines finished last with a 37-93 record while every other team in the league finished at .500 or better. The Phillies dropped their working agreement in September 1961. The Three-I League folded that January. Professional baseball returned to Des Moines in 1969 with the Iowa Oaks of the American Association, and the Iowa Cubs later revived the Demons name as a Copa de la Diversión identity in 2019.

Rugged, Reliable, and Built to Last
I picked up this Carhartt billfold wallet a while ago, and it’s exactly what I expected from the brand—tough, well-made, and built for everyday use. It’s holding up great, even after months of being stuffed in my pocket, dropped, and tossed around. What I Like: Durable Materials: The leather and stitching are rugged and high quality. It still looks good and hasn’t shown signs of wear. Plenty of Storage: There’s more than enough space for cards, cash, and ID, and it doesn’t bulk up too much. The removable passcase is a nice bonus. Classic Look: Clean, no-nonsense design. It has a workwear vibe that fits the Carhartt name perfectly. Comfortable to Carry: Even fully loaded, it fits nicely in my back pocket without being uncomfortable or bulky. Feels Like It'll Last for Years: You can tell this wallet was made with longevity in mind. Final Thoughts: If you want a simple, reliable wallet that won’t fall apart on you, this one’s a great pick. It looks good, performs even better, and lives up to the Carhartt name. Highly recommend for anyone who values durability over flash.

Overall it's a pretty nice wallet, and its different, unique.
Color: Carhartt Brown
This is a nice wallet. I am deducting one star for the reason another buyer noted. The card pockets are extremely tight. A solution that I came up with was to take a plastic putty knife and push down inside the card pockets and stretch the material out, this helped a bunch! One thing I really like, the material is not as slick as a leather wallet, so if a person has trouble with their wallet sliding out of their pocket, I think this one would be less likely to do that. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

This is the wallet you actually want.
Bought in late 2018, letting this wallet retire now in early 2026. Strong, durable wallet. For the money, definitely worth it.

Very Durable
This is the second wallet I've bought. Same type. First one was for a durability test. Pull, stretch, bend, twist at the seam, and it held up much better than similar wallets in the same price range. Highly recommend this wallet if you are hard on them like I am. Plenty of space for cards, cash, receipts, random papers and other items that seem to find their way into it throughout the year. And still doesn't feel big and bulky to sit on. I was a die hard trifold guy for many years because I couldn't find a bifold that could hold all my stuff in it. But this bifold holds everything and still has plenty of room for more. If you want a good quality wallet for a decent price the mossy oak Carhartt bifold is definitely the way to go, you won't be disappointed.
