Spirulina is often called the most nutrient-dense plant food on the planet. Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina is known by many as the best Spirulina in the world.

What is Spirulina?

Spirulina is a microscopic spiral shaped, blue-green vegetable algae that has been used as a significant food source for centuries. Spirulina is highly digestible and the most nutritious, concentrated whole food known to mankind. It contains a rich spectrum of available proteins and is the richest source of beta-carotene and mixed carotenoids in the world. It is rich in GLA, important B complexes and natural vitamin E, along with Calcium, Iron and other essential chelated minerals and trace elements. Spirulina is natures richest wholefood source of the entire anti-oxidant spectrum including: Beta-carotene, Vitamin E, Selenium, Methionine, Cysteine, Super Oxide Dismutase, Glutathionine Peroxides, Copper, Manganese, Zinc, B-1, B-2, B-3, B-5, and B-6.

It is the only source of Phycocyanin, an immune stimulant. Spirulina is nature's richest wholefood source of biochelated organic iron. It's 58 times richer than raw spinach and 28 times richer than raw beef liver. Spirulina is nature's richest source of vitamin E. It's 3 times higher than raw wheat germ, and its action in the body is 49% greater than that of synthetic Vitamin E. Spirulina is nature's richest source of Beta-carotene (Pro-vitamin A). It's 25 times higher than raw carrots! Beta-carotene in Spirulina is completely non-toxic, even in mega doses. Spirulina is nature's richest source of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). It's 3 times richer than evening primrose! The polyunsaturated oils in Spirulina contain 21% GLA (GLA is the active ingredient in evening primrose oil - evening primrose oil contains up to 10% GLA.) Spirulina is a rich wholefood source of chlorophyll - equal to that of alfalfa or wheat-grass. Spirulina is nature's richest wholefood source of complete protein. Spirulina Pacifica is a select strain of Spirulina Platensis developed over many years of continuous cultivation in Hawaii. Strain development and perfection started in 1984. The cultures grown by Cyanotech in Hawaii represent the oldest continuously cultivated and harvested Spirulina in the world. Hawaii's year-round growing conditions and integrated culture management system have made this possible. Spirulina Pacifica has been extensively analyzed by molecular biologists at the University of Hawaii who identified unique enzymes not previously found in other strains of Spirulina Platensis.

Why should I use it?

Doctors and Scientists recommend we eat five servings of fruits and vegetables a day. In real life, this does not often happen. Spirulina Pacifica can fill the gaps by supplying more concentrated vegetable nutrition than any other food. Spirulina provides a wide range of delicate phytonutrients with very significant health benefits. Phytonutrients include antioxidant carotenoids known for giving fruits and vegetables their orange and yellow colors. Nutritionists recommend increasing our intake of phytonutrients to protect against the harmful effects of UV sunlight, pollution, and environmental stress.

How is it Grown?

Spirulina Pacifica is a specially bred strain of the edible microalgae Spirulina Platensis. It is cultured in shallow, open ponds (approximately 20 cm deep) in Hawaii, adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. A combination of fresh water and supplemental deep ocean water is used to fill the ponds. The other major components required for growing Spirulina Pacifica are food-grade baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and carbon dioxide. Food grade fertilizers are used and the deep sea water is added as a rich source of minerals and trace elements. Paddle wheels agitate the water, ensuring even exposure of the algae to the sun for optimal growth and nutritional value. 350 metric tons of premium-quality Spirulina Pacifica are grown each year at Cyanotech's 80-acre Hawaiian, oceanfront production facility.

Why Hawaii?

Hawaii has unique environmental advantages for superior spirulina production. The waters off-shore are classified 'Class AA' as the cleanest coastal waters in the United States, and visibility is typically 150 feet. Its year round high temperature, prolonged bright sunlight and pristine air and ocean make it the ideal location to grow your daily food supplement.

Processing

Once the spirulina is harvested fresh from the ponds, it is imperative that the important, sensitive nutrients it contains are protected against damaging oxidation. One of the unique methods used by Cyanotech to protect against oxidation is in the drying method. Patented Ocean-Chill Drying protects phytonutrients and enzymes. Spirulina provides a wide range of delicate phytonutrients with very significant health benefits. To reduce processing losses of these delicate compounds Cyanotech have developed and patented Ocean Chill Drying. This is a process whereby the air used in the spray drier is put through a column of cold, deep ocean water pumped up from 2000ft. This 'rips' the oxygen from the dryer's air, exposing the Spirulina to far less oxidation than with conventional spray drying and retaining much higher levels of delicate nutrients such as Beta-carotene and Super Oxide Dismutase than all other brands. All Hawaiian Spirulina is dried with this process, giving Spirulina Pacifica much higher levels of phytonutrients and enzymes.

Antioxidant vegetable nutrition

Nature's richest source of carotenoids Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina is the richest wholefood source of Beta-carotene. This places Spirulina at the top of the list of foods like carrots, sweet potatoes and papaya. And unlike synthetic or extracted supplements, Spirulina supplies three distinct forms of beta carotene, 9-11 Cis, 13 Cis and Trans. Remember that the evidence favouring diets rich in beta carotene is based on diets rich in green foods, not synthetic supplements! This is the reason scientists recommend Beta-carotene rich foods rather than synthetic supplements. Just 3 grams provides over 14,000 i.u. of natural, 100% organic Beta-carotene. Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina is exceptionally rich in GLA. Three grams provide 30mg of GLA, almost two thirds of the GLA found in a typical GLA supplement. And the GLA in Spirulina requires no extraction process or added oils. Spirulina provides GLA in a natural wholefood base, which is easy to digest and assimilate. Spirulina supplies Iron, B-Vitamins, Chlorophyll and Super Oxide Dismutase. No other wholefood contains such a concentrated array of beneficial, naturally occurring compounds.

Spirulina is a food, not a formulation. As such it provides co-factors and combinations not present in ordinary synthesized or extracted supplements. Our bodies 'know how' to use Spirulina because it is a natural wholefood. Seniors, athletes, and those on special diets do well with Spirulina. Athletes, older people, and people on special diets have special nutritional needs. Spirulina provides Carotene-rich, highly digestible nutrition in an easy to assimilate, wholefood form. Spirulina is important for anyone wanting additional energy and anti-oxidant protection or needing supplemental nourishment such as dieters, athletes, convalescents and the elderly. Just six tablets a day (3grams) will help supply the nutrients lacking in most of our diets. Just a few grams of Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina supplies the phytonutrients contained in a whole salad.

Superior digestibility and nutrient absorbtion

Spirulina contains all the essential amino acids and is 95% digestible compared to meat at 18 - 20%. Most animal proteins are high in fat, calories and cholesterol that are difficult to digest and assimilate. Many plant-based supplements have cell walls made of hard indigestible cellulose. Spirulina's cell wall consists of soft mucopolysaccharides that instantly break down in digestion, releasing nutrients allowing the body to utilise valuable energy wasted on food digestion. It is low in fat, sodium, and cholesterol. Spirulina helps to naturally satisfy hunger, while it is low in calories.

How do I take Spirulina Pacifica Spirulina?

Spirulina is a whole food, not a vitamin or a drug, and it's safe to consume in large amounts. However, some people who are not used to a lot of greens in their diet may want to start off slowly then increase the amount per serving per day. Most people report increased energy levels after their systems adjust. We recommend one to two tablets with or after meals to start, and then gradually increase your intake. You may take spirulina all at once or more then once a day. Some people like to take it an hour before eating to satisfy their appetite. Those with difficulty sleeping may wish to take their spirulina in the morning, rather than the evening, since the high protein content tends to wake you up. If you choose the powder, this can be shaken into fruit juice in any sealable container, blended with fruit or stirred into yoghurt. It's delicious! It is arguably the best ingredient to use in your green smoothie! For taste reasons, we DON'T recommend you take it with plain water! One heaped teaspoon of Spirulina is equivalent to about 6 tablets, or one serve, but remember, spirulina is a food and you can use as much as you are comfortable with.

Pure Powder

100% pure Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina is the most nutrient-rich blue-green algae in the world. There are absolutely no additives to Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina powder.

Cold Pressed tablets

For convenience and a quick nutritional boost any time, our tablets can be carried in a purse, backpack or suitcase. Keep some at home and some at work. Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina tablets can go everywhere with you. When freshly harvested, A-grade Spirulina is indeed an amazing Superfood literally bursting with organic nutrients, bound in a wholefood matrix of thousands of precious enzymes and sensitive vitamins; however the degree of processing that many Spirulina suppliers subject their raw material to after harvesting has a destructive effect on potency. Spirulina Pacifica tablets are not subjected to heat or wet granulation. Our tablets are made on the farm in Hawaii using a cold pressed process, and contain just .1% silica (a mineral) and no fats, oils, starches, binders, fillers or any other additives. Once dried, tablets are made on the farm in Hawaii using a cold pressed process (no heat, no granulation) with the only ingredients being organic Hawaiian Spirulina and pure mineral silica.

“There are darknesses in life and there are lights. You are one of the lights...The light of all lights.” - Master of Salt & Bones. REVIEW: This book follows Isa who lives with her aunt on an island. Isa begins a new job as a caretaker for the dark, and mysterious Blackthorne family. A family who is disliked and even feared by the rest of the inhabitants of the island. However, as she grows closer to the man who they call the devil, Lucian Blackthorne, Isa sees for herself what the truth of Blackthorne manor really is. This book is a dark romance! Originally I was told it was fantasy, which I don’t agree with at all. It is more of an erotic, gothic feel with some mystery sprinkled in. The plot was very interesting and kept me intrigued. This book was also quite steamy, however, I felt those scenes were well done and didn’t take away from the rest of the book. Overall, the content in this book is quite dark and the backstories of the characters involve potentially triggering matters. Be aware to look these up if you feel like you need to. Overall, this is the first book I have read by Keri Lake, and I am excited to read more. SYNOPSIS: When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He'd ride up on his white steed and break the curse I've been fated to carry since the day I was born. Funny how things changed over time. How the fairy tale twisted into something far more crooked, darker than I ever imagined. In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was. Lucian Blackthorne is as cursed as I am, and equally shunned by the locals, the fishers of men, who believe him to be the devil in the flesh. Perhaps he is, with the way his amber eyes draw me in, ignite me like an infernal blaze. And the sins he whispers in my ear are as wickedly intoxicating as the man himself. Yet, his touch is heaven and his will is my weakness. He calls us forbidden, an unsalvageable tragedy, with no happy end. Maybe we are. But in this story, he’s the one who needs saving.

one of my top reads of 2023 🖤
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Master of Salt & Bones by Keri Lake review (no spoilers) ♾️/5 ⭐️ 4/5🌶️ 🏰gothic dark romance 🎹murder/mysteries 🏰age gap 🎹spicy 🏰touch her & d!e 🎹secret society 🏰dual POV & a past timeline for Lucian “we’re the composers, the conductor’s of our own fate, and we write the notes to a beautiful, dark melody that no one else can hear.” this book was AMAZING ❤️‍🔥 i couldn’t put this book down for anything . this book gives beauty & the beast / phantom of the opera vibes with a lot more going on . Lucian hires Isadora to help take care of his mom, not his nurse but a companion for her . Isadora has a painful past & she’s willing to do anything to get out of town to make some money , even if that means working for a guy with a thousand bad rumors about him . the way Lucian talks to Isadora is like he’s speaking poetry without even trying . the wording & quotes in this book were chiefs kiss . the spice in this book was gold 🔥 the plot of this book is super original & sooooo twisty . i think there were 5 different twists at the end & i had my jaw on the floor at all of them . literally obsessed with this book . the writing was beautifully done 🫶🏼 this is my first book by Keri & i will now be ordering more from her immediately🖤 this book is definitely in my top reads of the year! as always check your TW 🤍

4 star read - dark gothic romance
Format: Kindle
Master of Salt and Bones by Keri Lake 4 STAR READ “You’re my curse. Staying away from you, is like trying to hold my breath when the tide is rising.” This book reminds me a lot of Nightshade, also by Keri Lake, but without the fantasy element. It gives off the same gothic vibes, including flash backs, history of abuse, and sexual deviances. It also has some overlap with the older male character obsession that is seen in Nocticadia - though Lucien doesn’t hold a candle to Professor Bramwell. SUMMARY Lucien was abused, lied to, and manipulated his whole life, by everyone who should have protected and cared for him. A wealthy heir to a massive fortune, he is hard, dark, and delicious. The story unfolds across two timelines, jumping between Lucien’s past and present, and Isa’s POV. Lucien is viewed as the devil of Tempest Cove, covered in scars and rumors abound involving the death of his wife and son. Isa is the daughter of the town whore, who has struggle to fit in and cope with the tribulations of her life. Lucien hires Isa to be his mother’s companion, to keep her company and encourage her to get out of bed each day. As they continue to bump into each other and interact, their relationship develops beyond his dark obsession. Lucien is wary to get attached as his connection to a dangerous secret society puts everyone he cares about at risk, however there may be no way around Isa’s involvement. WHAT I LIKED and DISLIKED It was a great story full of tragedy and resilience. Both characters have deep back stories that unfold throughout the book, we get information at just the right time to make things make sense. It is really well told. It does feel a bit slow in the middle, I took a mid book break to read something else but came back to it and wondered why I stopped - the reason I gave 4 stars was because I had the need to take the break. Which tells me I lost interest during part of it. Lucien has so many layers and each one is full of sadness and devastation. Isa’s story is tragic in its own way, however her youth has her dealing with them in a difference way - she is definitely more detached in her own way. There is an age gap - Lucien is 33, Isa is 19 — I’m not usually a fan of this kind of age gap, but Isa isn’t childish or immature so it works. The book definitely gives Grumpy x sunshine vibes. The spice is well done and paced well throughout the book. If you like spicy, gothic, dark romance and have enjoyed other books by Keri Lake this book will not disappoint. There are references to rape, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and mental illness — I would check any triggers before reading
