A Beautiful Refuge produces lovingly-handcrafted screen printed items with a mission to embody fair trade and environmentally responsible principles throughout the production process. It is an extension of Safe Refuge, a resource center for women and children in crisis based in the Philippines. Pervasive poverty and high unemployment in the Philippines leave children and young women particularly vulnerable to trafficking, malnutrition, and homelessness.
For the past nine years, Safe Refuge has provided quality maternal care and childbirth services, educational opportunities and scholarships, emergency shelter, and supportive housing and aftercare for women and children.
