Concerto C3 was advertised by Breitkopf in Supplement V 1770 and, like the other works in that particular grouping of Hofmann concertos, it was probably composed some years earlier. Although superficially similar in style and structural thinking to many of Hofmann’s other keyboard concertos, Concerto C3 displays a level of sophistication in its large-scale planning that suggests it may be one of his later works. |
