De Reyneke Estate Syrah 2023 komt van een van de eerste biodynamische wijnhuizen in Zuid-Afrika. Reyneke werkt volledig volgens biodynamische principes, waarbij de wijngaarden als een gesloten ecosysteem worden gezien. Wat betekent biodynamisch werken in de praktijk? Het houdt in dat er geen synthetische middelen worden gebruikt en dat de bodem actief wordt versterkt met natuurlijke preparaten, wat zorgt voor een levendig en gezond wijngaardsysteem.

Deze wijn is gemaakt van Syrah, afkomstig uit Stellenbosch.

Herkomst: Stellenbosch

De wijngaarden liggen in Stellenbosch, een van de bekendste wijnregio’s van Zuid-Afrika.

  • Koelende invloeden van de oceaan: zorgen voor behoud van frisheid.

  • Graniet- en leisteenbodems: dragen bij aan structuur en complexiteit.

  • Biodynamische wijngaarden: versterken het natuurlijke evenwicht in de bodem.

Deze omstandigheden zorgen voor Syrah met diepgang en balans.

Druif en vinificatie

Syrah – Stellenbosch
Syrah staat bekend om zijn kruidige karakter en stevige structuur.

De druiven worden met de hand geoogst en vergisten met natuurlijke gisten. De rijping vindt plaats in Franse eikenhouten vaten, waarbij een deel nieuw hout kan worden gebruikt om structuur en complexiteit toe te voegen zonder het fruit te overheersen.

Karakter en stijl

In het glas toont deze Syrah een diepe robijnrode kleur. De wijn staat bekend om donker fruit, kruidigheid en een stevige structuur. Door de combinatie van biodynamische teelt en zorgvuldige vinificatie ontstaat een wijn met balans en diepgang.

Serveer rond 16°–18°C om structuur en complexiteit optimaal tot hun recht te laten komen.

This is a great way to treat your dog! I filled it with a bit of plain yogurt drink diluted with water, and my dog absolutely loved it. It only took him about 3-5 minutes to finish it, but he’s about 60lbs, so maybe a bigger size bowl would be better for him. Max capacity of this one is 190 ml. You do have to monitor your dog with this bowl - mine tried to dismantle the bowl when it was empty, trying to get more out of it. Overall I think it’s a fun way to get your dog to drink a little bit more with diluted yogurt, broth, etc.

Kudos to whomever created this! I have a super attached (med) dog that follows me from room to room alllll day. The first time I put this down he went right for it and didn’t even notice i had left the deck. He is very food driven. I used bone broth and pumpkin puree, which was a hit but once I used the apple sauce… HUGE hit. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come in an XL size. My dog can empty it in under 3 minutes..so he doesn’t get relaxed or sleepy! it does splash out a bit from the top so I use it on his food mat or outside..my sister can’t stand the noise the ball makes. I wasn’t diluting enough so the ball doesn’t move smoothly in the video, but it really does work! The cover is very well made and sturdy. I didn’t notice it sliding around at all. My dog also did not try to get the ball out (loves to tear apart toys) or tip it over, but I could see that happening. I wouldn’t use unsupervised unless you have a small dog. Please make a larger size!!!!

Works but the bowl is wacky

This slow feeder is actually a very good idea and my dog likes it. I blend plain, unsweetened yogurt with a little powdered pumpkin & apple pectin and thin it down with water so the roller ball can easily rotate. It's sturdy and it doesn't slip on the floor, which is good. However, I give it only three stars because the bowl inside is a ridiculous design. Instead of the inside surface being a gently sloping, smooth surface, the "legs" underneath protrude up through the inside (see photo). It makes stirring and cleanup much more difficult than it needs to be. Presumably, it's made using injection molding so it should be easy to design it with a smooth finish.

Happy licking brain stimulation!

I had to knock it one star for its ease of use and cleaning. The inside bowl has “fins” inside that make it difficult to stir things up and mix together or to clean. Other than that minor gripe we really love it and would buy again. The enjoyment our girl gets out of is definitely worth the money.
