Over het wijnhuis

Damilano behoort tot de historische Barolo-huizen. De wortels gaan terug tot 1890, toen Giuseppe Borgogno startte; in 1935 nam schoonzoon Giacomo Damilano over en zette de kwaliteitskursus voort. Jaargang 2021

Voor Barolo geldt 2021 als een uitzonderlijk goed jaar met krachtige, nog jeugdig aanvoelende tannines en een trager rijpingstempo. Dit typeert wijnen met veel structuur en diepte, gemaakt voor ontwikkeling in de kelder, maar die met wat tijd om te ademen in een karaf nu al fraai voor de dag kunnen komen.

Wijn-spijs advies

Klassieke combinaties bij deze Barolo zijn gestoofd rundvlees of kalfsschenkels, wildgerechten en paddenstoelen-gerechten, evenals gerijpte harde kazen. Deze jaargang heeft de structuur om rijke, langzaam gegaarde gerechten moeiteloos te dragen.
