    Deze wijn dankt zijn naam aan een ondergrondse schuilplaats waar de lokale bewoners door de eeuwen heen hun toevlucht zochten in gevaarlijke situaties. Het hele gebied heette Rifugio, wat tegenwoordig een perceel is dat bijzonder geschikt is voor de teelt van Primitivo-druiven.

    Robijnrode kleur. Aroma van klein rood fruit en specerijen. Een goede structuur en rijpe tannine maken van deze wijn een topper. Twaalf maanden rijping op eiken vat maken van deze wijn één van de kruidigere wijnen uit onze kelder.

    Schenk met gerechten met rijke sauzen, gegrild vlees, lamsvlees of een stoofpotje van wild.
