Dienheim is een klein gebied binnen Rheinhessen. Het wijngoed wordt al vijf generaties lang gerund,  Ook al leefden de eerste generaties niet rechtstreeks van de wijnbouw. Ze hielden van dit kleine wijndorp, de Rijn-Hessische manier van leven, en bleven de wijnmakerij steeds verder uitbreiden. Waar de mannen het voorwerk deden, namen de vrouwen het van ze over. Tegenwoordig wordt het domein geleid door de familie Pfeffer-Müller, de dochterlijn van, en beslaat het een oppervlakte van 11 ha. De wijn komt van de wijngaarden Dienheimer Tafelstein die zich uitstrekken over de terrassen langs de Rijn. Hier verbouwen ze grotendeels Riesling en kleinere gaarden aan Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, Sylvaner, Schreube en Spätburgunder.

Sinds enige jaren voeren ze ook de PURE-lijn, Volledig Vin méthode nature, Strenge selectie van druiven, spontane fermentatie, ongeklaard, ongefilterd en zonder toevoeging van sulfiet. Deze ontwikkeling begon binnen het wijnhuis al een kleine 40 jaar geleden. Weingut dr. Brüder Becker is daarmee ook een van de pioniers binnen de biologische en biodynamische wijnbouw binnen Duitsland en het eerste VDP-wijnhuis zijn met een biologische certificering.

  • In de wijngaard: De percelen liggen oost / zuidoost en zijn goed beschermd tegen de koude winden. De bodem is licht en bestaat uit löss en kalksteen. De Pinot Noir druif groeit al meer dan duizend jaar in deze omgeving. Handmatige oogst. Maximale opbrengst van 45l/ha.

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
