Dit Pelham biedt gerichte en effectieve ondersteuning en werkt in op de volledige breedte van de tong, hals en onderkaak. De hefboomwerking op de hals kan worden aangepast aan de teugelconfiguratie. Hierdoor kunt u inspelen op de individuele behoeften van uw paard.

Het bit wordt vaak gebruikt in combinatie met Pelham-converters. Als de ruiter en het paard meer gevorderd zijn, wordt aanbevolen om twee paar teugels te gebruiken: dit maakt een zo gevoelig mogelijke hefboomwerking mogelijk. De Pelham wordt gebruikt in combinatie met een kinriem. Als deze zo geplaatst is dat er een hoek van maximaal 45° ontstaat tussen de onderste teugel en het mondstuk, wordt de druk op de hals op een verstandige manier beperkt.
