In 2003 David Bowie included Forces of Victory in a list of his 25 favourite albums – Confessions of a Vinyl Junkie… “… some of the most moving poetry to be found in popular music. The quite achingly sad “Sonny’s Lettah (Anti-Sus Poem)” is alone worth the price of admission … this must be one of the most important reggae records of all time. I gave my original copy just recently to Mos Def, in whom I see connections to Johnson, thinking I had already got it on CD. Dammit, I haven’t. So now I’m searching high and low for a copy” Having exploded onto the UK scene in 1978 with the dark, angry masterpiece, Dread Beat & Blood, Brixton ‘dub-poet’ Linton Kwesi Johnson returned in April 1979, with Forces Of Victory – the record that cemented his growing reputation as a major talent. Produced by LKJ and Dennis ‘Blackbeard’ Bovell and featuring his Dub Band providing the infectious grooves, the record contains some of Johnson’s most memorable songs/poems, such as the heartbreaking prison story of injustice, Sonny’s Lettah, the challenging, anti-racist Fite Dem Back, and the jazz-tinged single Want Fi Goh Rave. LKJ was featured in the recent Steve McQueen film ‘Uprising’, about the 1981 New Cross fire that led to civil unrest, and ‘Small Axe’, McQueen’s series of stunning films about the experiences of West Indian immigrants in London. The album is dramatic and intense to the point of claustrophobia – featuring both wry observation and deep political conviction, delivered in LKJ’s unmistakable Jamaican patois. Not simply one of the most important reggae records of its time, it’s one of the most important reggae records ever recorded. Now expanded featuring a second disc of dub versions and extended mixes as well as enhanced artwork, gatefold sleeve and printed inner bags. Remastered at Abbey Road, and released on heavyweight vinyl. Out of print for many years. “A homegrown reggae classic”Shipping Notes

fit and comfort
Size: 8.5, Color: Grey, Size: 8.5, Color: Grey
Perfect fit, i was a little anxious about the size and fit. As you can see in the pictures, they look great and they are very light. I would give them a five-star rating as the comfort is there, only the point is a little hard on the toes, I hope that goes away with usage.

Comfortable Oxford style shoes
Size: 10, Color: Black, Size: 10, Color: Black
Comfortable shoes that almost slip on each time. The material is a cotton mesh that is very soft and breathes well. I would not recommend walking in wet grass as the water can get through the mesh and make your feet wet.
I normally wear size 10 for sneakers and this was true to size. I have extra room in the toe box. I do think the shoe feels a little narrow, but with the mesh area being stretchy, it does not cause any discomfort. The narrowness of the shoe makes it look more form fitting around my feet.
Overall the shoe is comfortable while also giving an impression of high quality foot wear. It looks elegant too. The shoes also seem pretty durable given how much they feel like sneakers. The leather at the tip of the shoe does not scuff easily, which is great! Overall good value too!

Poor quality
Size: 12, Color: Black
Poor quality. Returned after arrival, soles seem to be made of plastic.

High End Style Without the Markup
Size: 12, Color: Navy, Size: 12, Color: Navy
I love the deep navy color of these shoes because it looks even richer in person than it does in the online photos. I usually wear a size 12 and these do have some extra room so could have gone down a half size. The white sole creates a nice contrast that makes the navy color pop. For me, these hit that perfect sweet spot where I look put together at work that is business casual without feeling like I am wearing stiff or formal dress shoes.
These are comfortable shoes because the fabric is breathable and keeps my feet cool throughout the day. I especially like that the toe box bends naturally and does not leave ugly permanent creases across the top of the shoe. The padding around the ankle is soft and there is no rubbing even when I am walking a lot.
My favorite part has to be the slight stretch around the opening because it lets me kick them off or slide them on without having to touch the laces. This is a total win for my lazy side and makes them my go to pair when I am headed out the door in a hurry. The stitching feels very durable and the overall build quality seems like it will hold up for a long time.

Good value for the money.
Size: 9.5 Wide, Color: Beige
Comfortable right out of the box. Great style and well made. The more you wear the softer they get but maintain their overall appearance.
