Karton wordt gemaakt van papierpulp en is vaak herkenbaar aan de natuurlijke en bruine uitstraling. Het is een natuurlijk materiaal en heeft als groot voordeel dat het hernieuwbaar en recyclebaar is en daarmee plastic afval tegengaat. De aangebracht coating van PE zorgt ervoor dat het bakje voedselveiling en vetvrij is.
