This compact conversion unit is designed to seamlessly bridge SMPTE optical fiber infrastructure with professional HDMI monitoring environments while maintaining exceptional image fidelity. Engineered for facilities that rely on long‑distance fiber transport, it accepts high‑bandwidth optical SDI signals through an optional SMPTE‑compatible SFP module, supporting 3G, 6G and 12G single‑mode fiber links. This flexibility allows operators to choose the appropriate optical standard for each installation, ensuring compatibility with existing fiber networks and providing reliable transport of SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD signals over many kilometers. Once received, the converter outputs a clean HDMI feed capable of up to 2160p60, making it suitable for color‑critical use with modern reference displays. 

The internal architecture is designed for accuracy and stability. Incoming formats are automatically detected across a full range of broadcast standards, including interlaced, progressive and PsF modes. A built‑in down‑converter enables smooth viewing of Ultra HD sources on HD monitors, which is especially useful for facilities with mixed‑resolution equipment. A 12G‑SDI loop‑through connection passes the original signal forward, supporting flexible routing topologies where additional devices must receive the untouched feed. This ensures the converter integrates cleanly into larger signal chains without requiring external distribution hardware.

Professional audio connectivity is fully addressed with balanced analog XLR outputs that can alternatively provide timecode, as well as four‑channel 110‑ohm AES/EBU digital audio. Embedded SDI audio is supported with up to eight channels retained through conversion, providing comprehensive integration with monitoring systems, mixers or playback workstations. Combined with reclocking on all SDI inputs, the unit maintains robust signal integrity for mission‑critical operations.

Configuration options include USB and Ethernet control, allowing both local setup and full remote administration within complex broadcast facilities. The design supports optional front‑mounted smart panels that add a color LCD and navigation controls, enabling on‑device monitoring and rapid adjustments without external tools. Its built‑in international AC power supply and PoE+ compatibility allow the converter to be deployed flexibly in rack systems, mobile kits or fiber‑based field installations.
