What is it that compels a group of people to follow the leadership and vision of one person? Why are the insights and pursuits of certain individuals more persuasive than those of others? In this book, Jerry Wragg investigates how leadership should be characterized in the church, and how biblical leadership must differ from the kind of leadership promoted in the world. He explores the dynamics of leadership, particularly the character traits that need to be built up or eradicated in leaders, the dangers that leaders face and temptations to which they are particularly prone, and the development of future leaders: how to recognize leadership potential and encourage leadership gifts in the next generation. Throughout, Jerry Wragg writes honestly and offers pastoral encouragement and practical guidance that will help all men placed in church leadership positions.

______________

Jerry Wragg was born and raised in California, and was exposed to Christian training through his parents' example and his own involvement in church. He didn't come to faith in Christ, however, until after he was married and serving in the United State Air Force. After his discharge from the service, he graduated from The Masters Seminary and served as an associate pastor and personal assistant to Dr. John MacArthur at Grace Community Church in California. In 2001, he accepted the call as pastor-teacher at Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, Florida, where he continues to minister at present. Over the years he has taught on church leadership, biblical counseling, theology and Bible survey courses, marriage and family, and parenting. In addition, Jerry serves as Board Chairman for The Expositors Seminary, Jupiter, Florida. He and his wife, Louise, have four grown children

______________

This practical gem's facets reflect a kaleidoscope of biblical patterns for spiritual leadership. However, two of them are especially conspicuous: personal example and public exposition. These characteristics are biblically in accord with the same areas of responsibility and accountability laid upon Timothy and Titus (e.g., 1 Tim. 4:12 16) by Paul. And, of course, Paul himself exemplified them (e.g., Acts 20:17 38), since he followed the Model of the Master. Wragg also makes it clear theologically that spiritual influence is God-given, thereby challenging the would-be leader with the need for lifelong prayer for and pursuit of humility. This circumscribing attribute is the atmosphere in which all the other characteristics of biblical leadership breathe and grow. Since the essentiality of humility is woven into all the pages of Exemplary Spiritual Leadership, as you read be prepared to be challenged by the implications of Jesus's words to his disciples who were vying for superior positions of leadership: "If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all" (Mark 9:35). If your desire is to be a spiritual leader as defined by Scripture you cannot afford not to read this doctrinally accurate and exceedingly practical volume. George J. Zemek, Th.D., Academic Dean, The Expositors Seminary, USA

I am biased here because I love this author.
Dr. Caputti is very detailed in her information while dispersing it in an organized and easy to follow manner. I would recommend anything she publishes as well any conferences at which she speaks to inform RN/PNs of test strategies and how professionals think through patient scenarios.
