Cook with confidence using the Circulon SteelShield™ Hybrid Nonstick Stainless Steel 26 cm Stockpot — a high-capacity pot (7.6 litres) designed for serious home cooks. With hybrid tech that blends stainless steel strength and nonstick ease, this stockpot helps you make large batches — stews, soups, pastas, stocks — without the cleanup hassle.

Key Features & Benefits

  • SteelShield™ hybrid nonstick surface: Raised steel “peaks” protect the nonstick grooves from scratching, allowing you to use metal utensils without fear of damaging the coating.
  • Tri-ply clad stainless steel body: An aluminium core is sandwiched between stainless steel layers, ensuring even heat distribution from base to sides.
  • Large 7.6 L capacity: Ideal for soups, stews, boiling pasta, batch cooking, or larger family meals.
  • All-hob compatibility, including induction: Built to perform on electric, gas, ceramic, and induction cooktops.
  • Oven & dishwasher safe: Rated to 260 °C (500 °F) and constructed with sealed rims to resist corrosion, making it safe for oven use and suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher.
  • Stay-cool ergonomic handles & tempered glass lid: The handles remain comfortable to grip even when cooking, and the lid allows you to monitor your dish without losing heat.
  • Lifetime guarantee: Circulon backs this stockpot with a limited lifetime warranty, reflecting the robustness of the design.

Advantages & Potential Drawbacks

Advantages:

  • Excellent heat control and minimal hot spots
  • Nonstick convenience with durability (metal utensil safe)
  • Versatile use (stovetop, oven, induction)
  • Large capacity for batch cooking or entertaining
  • Easier cleanup than traditional stainless steel pots

Potential Drawbacks / Considerations:

  • Premium price point compared to standard stockpots
  • A glass lid without a vent may require careful monitoring of boiling or foaming contents
  • The pot is large — might be heavy to handle when full
  • Nonstick coatings still require care to maximise lifespan

Usage & Care Recommendations

  • Preheat gently — allow the pot to warm gradually before adding ingredients.
  • Use moderate heat — the tri-ply core heats efficiently, so cooking at medium rather than high often suffices.
  • Use oil or fat — even though the nonstick is forgiving, a small amount of fat often helps with flavour and longevity.
  • Avoid thermal shock — do not plunge a hot pot into cold water.
  • Use nonabrasive tools & cleaning — even with the SteelShield protection, cleaning with gentle nonabrasive sponges helps maintain the finish.
  • Stack carefully — if storing nested, protect the interior (e.g., soft cloth or pan liners) to avoid scratches.

Thicker than I anticiapted
Format: Paperback
The encyclopedia of DNS books, meaning thicker than a phone book. I like the fact that this book is thick but so easy to read and follow along with. If you know nothing about DNS, this book makes it easy to learn about DNS. It starts with the history of DNS and then explains the hierarchy of the DNS tree. A must read if you want to improve your understanding of the internet and what happens under the hood for name resolution.

Best practical book on DNS and how it works
Format: Kindle
I was interested in finding out more about how DNS is deployed and operated in practice. The first few chapters in this book deliver very well in this regard. My motivation was to find out more about how a certain type of Internet attack -- the "open DNS resolver attack" -- works. Even though this book was written well before this attack became popular and well known -- and therefore the attack is not mentioned, let alone analyzed -- the book was still quite helpful to me.

One of the best books I've read on DNS and BIND
Format: Kindle
DNS is one of those concepts that is almost kept in mystery in the tech world. The knowledge seems to be passed by word of mouth, and there doesn't seem to be one good repository to go to as an information source. That is not to say that this book is all inclusive, no book can contain every piece of knowledge you need/desire, especially on such a complex topic. This book however does a phenomenal job of demystifying the subject and giving a good, practical understanding of how DNS and BIND work. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, whether it be the new network/sys admin who has just had complex networking needs dropped on his lap, or even the seasoned network admin who needs a good convenient reference on occasion.
