Care and Maintenance

How to Clean & Sanitize POLYWOOD Furniture:
Use this method for a quick clean-up here and throughout the season. Add in the bleach solution noted below to easily sanitize and eliminate any stubborn stains or dirt build-up from the winter months.
Mix mild dish soap and warm water in a bucket and use a clean cloth to wipe the soapy mixture onto the surfaces of your furniture, cleaning off any dust and dirt. For extra cleaning power or to sanitize, mix 1/3 parts bleach with 2/3 parts water and apply the bleach mixture to the finish with a clean cloth. Allow the bleach solution to sit on the lumber for a few minutes, it will not affect the color of the lumber. Loosen any dirt and debris that may catch in the surface grooves of the lumber by scrubbing the bleach mixture with a soft-bristle brush. Rinse thoroughly, and air dry or wipe dry with a soft cloth.

How to Clean Outdoor Fabric:
Small stains can be removed with a mixture of mild dish soap and water. For tougher stains, a mix one ounce of bleach with 30 ounces of water in a spray bottle. If possible, place a clean towel between the fabric and foam cushion to absorb any excess moisture. Set the nozzle to "fan" the spray pattern and wet out the entire side of the cover where the stain is. Then wipe the entire cover with a clean cloth to remove any excess moisture. Then spray the same area with clean water to rinse the bleach solution out of the fabric. Again wipe the entire cover with a clean cloth to remove any excess moisture. Allow the cover to air dry.

About POLYWOOD

Back in 1990, we were the first to create outdoor furniture from recycled plastic materials. "Made with genuine POLYWOOD lumber" is a brand promise. Our furniture is built to be enjoyed season after season . More importantly, our goal is to help create spaces where friends and family can gather, relax, and connect. POLYWOOD recycles an average of 400,000 milk jugs per day. Truckloads of recycled milk jugs are transformed into genuine POLYWOOD lumber, which is then used to construct our furniture.

Today, POLYWOOD recycles an average of 400,000 milk jugs per day. Truckloads of recycled milk jugs are transformed into genuine POLYWOOD lumber, which is then used to construct our wide array of Adirondack chairs, rocking chairs, benches, gliders, deep seating, dining, and more!

POLYWOOD furniture is built to withstand all four seasons and a range of climates including hot sun, snowy winters, salt spray, and heavy winds. Unlike traditional wood furniture, POLYWOOD furniture will never need to be sanded, painted or stained.

Another fine Benchmark Atlas.
Format: Spiral-bound
We travel a lot and own 6 benchmark atlases now. They're the finest on the market and include camping and fishing information and show the forest service and other backroads. What's special about the British Columbia atlas is that it is spiral bound. I just replaced my Oregon atlas after 20 years because the cover had ripped up and torn off and the pages were falling out. I hope they will all be spiral bound from now on.

Another good Benchmark Atlas
Format: Spiral-bound
We camp frequently and own all of the Benchmark Atlases. Although, this is different due to Canadian laws, we are excited to try it out! Very detailed with information, such as small campgrounds and identifying land ownership (Forest services or BLM)

Memories of the Camino
Format: Paperback
First off, I have to say that my husband and I know Angela, the author. We met her because she is a neighbor of my sister, living in Hawaii. We discovered that she planned to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela the same year we were (2016) ! On a visit to Hawaii, we met with Angela and did a little local hike together. She was so enthusiastic and had prepared well. We, too, had been reading up and watching videos, getting suggestions as to what to bring, how to deal with physical issues and weather, what to pack and what not to pack, etc. Still, for anyone doing the Camino - whether the WHOLE 500 miles or doing the required 100 km to get the certificate at the final destination: Santiago de Compostela, Spain - it is a very personal endeavor. Reading Angela Leslee's book gives you the personal story of her "camino," and it is captivating. The changes that take place in her life - the discoveries she makes, the people she meets, the failures she feels, the fears, the habits that get broken (such as food choices!) - all make for an adventure that is life-changing and an interesting read. For anyone considering this pilgrimage, because that's what it is, this book will inspire you. You don't need to be part of a "group." You don't need a lot of plans. You do need to be prepared to be changed. The memory for myself and my husband is that it is the best shared experience we have had together in our 50 years of marriage! Angela's book brought back so many wonderful memories for us. I highly recommend this book.
