Our 1.5” thick butcher block style board allows for stability while cutting and the inner handles provide grip for easy carrying and serving. With it's great size of 16x12x1.5 inches, you won't feel any place limits.

One side of our board is for serving, which includes a perfectly carved out area primary suited for placing crackers and sliced baguettes. The other side is a flat surface meant for slicing, chopping and includes a juice groove to avoid mess when cutting meats and fruits. In regards to mentioning butcher block style, this is because of the thickness of our board (1.5in). 1.5in, and larger, is common thickness for butcher blocks. Butcher blocks can be made by either end or edge grain construction. Ours is of course edge grain.

Do I need to apply oil this cutting board before using it?
We highly recommend regular application of oil to help prevent drying and cracking, as well as to bring out the beautiful natural colors of the acacia wood. Enjoy!
Can you list what the cleaning and care instructions are here so that we can know *before* we buy it?
We're happy to! Hand wash in warm soapy water, thoroughly rinse and towel dry. Stand the board up to allow surfaces to air dry evenly after each use. Regular application of a food grade mineral oil will help preserve the rich natural colors of the acacia wood as well as prevent the board from drying out. Hope that helps!
How can i remove visible knife cuts on the board? After one use, i can clearly see cuts in the wood from the knife i used. Should i apply oil/sand paper?
Knife marks are very normal and will be visible with all wood cutting boards. However, knife marks are a good sign! You should really worry if you don't have knife marks on a cutting board, since that would mean the board is much harder than your knife’s edge, something you would experience with glass or stone cutting boards which can dull your knives incredibly fast. While wood cutting boards will show various marks overtime, periodically treating it with food-grade mineral oil will help those marks add character to the board and blend into the natural grain and color of the wood.
