A variable maximum aperture also helps maintain an impressively compact profile for everyday shooting needs. Complementing the flexible design is a unique mid-macro focus position that enables 1:1 close-up work.
In addition, the optical image stabilization mechanism minimizes the occurrence of camera shake and achieves sharp images. Additionally, the STM motor provides ultra-quiet and smooth autofocus performance and permanent manual focus override. Plus, a configurable control ring lets you adjust exposure settings like ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation directly on the lens.
