Браян Олдісс почав видавати свої твори у 50-х роках минулого сторіччя. А в 60-х упорядкував три антології наукової фантастики, з яких згодом склався Пенґвінівський омнібус наукової фантастики (1973). Відтоді ці томи й перевидаються в тій чи іншій формі. Також відомий письменник і багатьма романами, що не належать до жанру НФ. А ще він знаний як художник та автор численних статей і віршів.
Повість 'Теплиця' ('Hothouse') Браяна Олдісса, пошановану у 1962 р. премією 'Гюґо', і сучасного українського читача розділяє всього лише якихось п’ятдесят з лишком років. У порівнянні з часовою локацією 'Теплиці' тими роками без будь-яких докорів сумління можна знехтувати. Не вірите? В такому разі лише уявіть собі… далекий дуже далекий світ майбутнього Землі, коли Сонце перетворилось у червоного гіганта, а сама планета, повернута до нього лише однією стороною, переживає не найкращі часи. Якщо, звичайно, можна назвати не найкращими часами апокаліпсис, що вже триває мільйони років. Тут усе живе бореться за існування, і в цій безжальній боротьбі людство (точніше — жменька зеленошкірих істот, що знайшли прихисток на середньому ярусі безкрайніх джунглів) безнадійно програє. Втім, якщо це може втішити (хоч би прихильників глибинної екології!), то біологічна ніша, яку з незапам’ятних часів займали тварини, уже давно завойована. I always ignore the buyer beware post but this is a buyer beware post!
I purchased this product based on the reviews I read. Please do not purchase. The cartridge is totally different from the brand version
The part of the cartridge that should be fastened and locked into the pen is shaped in a circle , on the pen the Parr is rectangle . The original cartridge has a circular downward pattern to help lock the cartridge into the machine on the replacement cartridge there's no ridges it just slides down so it doesn't fit in no way shape form or fashion. I tried to alter the circular piece to make it fit by filing, burning and reshaping the plastic in an attempt to change the shape to a rectangle to fit it doesn't work the entire cartridge does not fit into the machine it's a waste of money for product that can't be returned or used. Buyer beware!

I love the Passion Translation. I look forward to Exodus and some of the other books being translated in the Old Testament. Right now I have all that are available including the New Testament.
