This is one of the projects of the course "Organizing with cartonnage boxes". Cartonnage is an amazing technique. It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! Making your own fabric box is a great idea! It is so fun and it makes a unique handmade gift! You can make your own keepsake boxes, cases and much more out of paperboard, fabric and glue with this lovely craft!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric!
This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all pre cut paper (chipboard 100 points and 50 points and poster board) you need to make your own supreme hinged lid box, as shown in the pictures. The finished box will be 8 ½” x 6 ½” x 5 ¼ ”, great to organize with stationary, craft or sewing notions. No worries about cutting paper! Fabric and other contents showed in pictures are not included. Small metal knob is included and the color and model may be different than showed in pictures.
For making the box you will need this kit, two coordinating fabrics (1/2 yard each), white PVA glue (Glue All - Elmer's), rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush, masking tape, hole punch, clamps and clips.
Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the tools section of the shop.
Metal feet and clasps can be added to this box and are sold separately, check the supplies section of the shop.
