Originally airing in first-run syndication from September 7, 1985 to March 26, 1988, the series reunites fans with Roger “Raj” Thomas (Ernest Thomas), now a struggling writer who buys into Rob’s Place — renamed simply Rob’s — and runs the restaurant alongside the sharp-tongued and hilarious Shirley (Shirley Hemphill). Helping keep Raj grounded is his new wife Nadine (Anne-Marie Johnson), a compassionate social worker, as they settle into Raj’s childhood home.

Meanwhile, the original trio has officially entered adulthood — with Dwayne (Haywood Nelson) working as a computer programmer and Rerun (Fred Berry) hustling as a used-car salesman. Though they’ve grown up, their knack for getting into outrageous situations hasn’t changed a bit.

Fans will love seeing Danielle Spencer return in guest appearances as Raj’s sister Dee. And don’t miss a young Martin Lawrence in his very first television series role as Maurice Warfield, a teenage busboy at Rob’s who, along with best friend Darryl (Ken Sagoes), brings a fresh burst of comedy that mirrors the classic Raj, Dwayne, and Rerun dynamic.
