Killer pre-lift smelling salts for your heaviest strength days.

From what I've dug up online, Obsidian Ammonia Head Shot is a liquid smelling salts product in a 30 mL squeezable bottle—not your usual supplement like a powder, pill, or drink. That's key: no standard Supplement Facts panel here, so I couldn't verify doses myself. Note: Full supplement facts panel not available for independent dose verification.

Retailer sites and product info all say it's a high-potency ammonia inhalant for a quick sensory boost right before heavy lifts or intense efforts. It seems to use the same lab-grade ammonia style as the brand's famous Nose Bleach, but in this easy-squeeze bottle. Some spots call it a 'Level 3' or mid-strength in smelling salts, meaning it's super potent but not the brand's top beast. These are just what retailers and the brand claim—no lab tests to back it up.

Don't expect the steady buzz from caffeine pre-workouts. Smelling salts give a short, sharp inhale that snaps you awake, amps intensity, and gets you mentally locked in. Strength folks use them right before deadlifts, squats, bench PRs, strongman stuff, or big sets when they want that aggressive ritual. Online descriptions show Head Shot is made for exactly that.

Obsidian Ammonia is a niche, hardcore brand focused on ammonia inhalants, not everyday wellness supps. It's often hard to find in stock, with lots of sold-out listings, which hints at its cult following in those circles.

Key Highlights

  • From what I've seen online, Head Shot is a liquid ammonia inhalant in a handy 30 mL squeezable bottle, perfect for quick hits before lifts instead of all-day energy.
  • Retailer and brand info say it packs the same high-potency lab-grade ammonia as Obsidian’s Nose Bleach line.
  • It's positioned as mid-to-high potency in the category, described as strong but not the brand’s ultimate powerhouse.
  • Made for right-before use on heavy sets, max tries, strongman events, or those intense training spots where you need instant wake-up.
  • Not like powder pre-workouts with caffeine, pumps, or focus blends for long effects—this is all about a fast sensory blast.
  • The squeezable bottle is great for guys who want easy access in the gym without messing with capsules or bulky gear.
  • Obsidian Ammonia has that underground hardcore rep in smelling salts, and it's often low-stock or sold out at retailers.
  • Folks into this are usually from powerlifting and heavy strength crowds who dig intense training rituals and pre-lift focus.

Who Is This For?

  • Powerlifters needing a fast jolt before max singles
  • Bodybuilders who love an intense ritual before big compounds
  • Strongman guys wanting quick mental fire-up before events
  • Seasoned pre-workout users after more than just caffeine
  • Lifters in pumped-up, high-energy gyms
  • Athletes who pick portable liquid smelling salts over capsules or amps

How to Use

Stick to smelling salts use only and don't drink it. Guys usually pop the bottle and take a short, careful sniff before a heavy set, not a long drag. Go easy at first, especially if liquid ammonia's new to you. Don't overdo it quick, and keep the bottle off your nose. Since I couldn't verify full label instructions, check the packaging when you get it and use smart caution.

What to Expect

These things kick in seconds after you inhale, not like pre-workouts that take 30-60 minutes. You feel it hit hard and fast—a quick wake-up and sensory rush. That peak is short, timed for your heavy set or big push. Not for long pumps, stamina, or workout-long focus. Once it's over, you're back to normal and can hit it again for another key lift if you want.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Obsidian Ammonia Head Shot?

Head Shot appears to be a liquid smelling salts product in a 30 mL squeezable bottle, designed for brief inhalation before heavy lifts or intense efforts.

Is this a normal dietary supplement or pre-workout?

No. It is not a traditional oral supplement like a powder or capsule. It belongs to the ammonia inhalant/smelling salts category.

Does Head Shot contain caffeine?

Available research does not present it as a caffeine-based pre-workout. Its intended effect comes from the smelling salts category rather than a standard stimulant drink formula.

How strong is Head Shot supposed to be?

Retailer sources often place it in a mid-to-high potency tier and sometimes describe it as a Level 3 option, but exact concentration was not independently verified.

When do athletes usually use it?

Most use products like this immediately before a max effort set, heavy compound lift, or competition-style attempt when they want a fast jolt of alertness.

Is there a full Supplement Facts panel available?

No complete traditional Supplement Facts panel was available in research sources, which is common for this category because it is not an ingestible supplement.

Who is Head Shot best suited for?

It is best suited for experienced strength athletes who already understand smelling salts and want a rapid pre-lift arousal product.

Can beginners use Head Shot?

Beginners should be cautious. Smelling salts can feel very intense, so this category is generally better suited to experienced users.

Say goodbye to neck pain
Color: White, Size: Queen
This is a very good product but it takes some time to adjust removable stuffing to accommodate individual sleeping patterns.

Soft and comfortable cooling pillowcase that gets the job done!
Color: White, Size: Queen, Color: White, Size: Queen
I got this quilted bamboo pillow protector (queen size) because I wanted a cleaner, cooler layer between my pillow and pillowcase since I’m always hot. This has been a great solution for that. The fabric feels soft and smooth, and it doesn’t make that crinkly noise some cooling pillowcases do. I’m a warm sleeper and the “cooling” aspect feels more like breathable than icy-cold, but it definitely sleeps more comfortably than the thick polyester protectors I’ve used in the past. The light quilting adds a little cushion without making my pillow feel bulky or changing the loft much. I like the fact that if you use a memory foam fill pillow you can add or remove some of the filling to make the pillow as firm or mushy as you want. This is especially helpful for people that are side sleepers vs people that need more neck support. The zipper is a big plus. Just be careful when zipping it open and closed as these are usually the first point of failure for pillowcases in my experience. It closes fully and keeps the protector snug so it doesn’t shift around inside the pillowcase, and it gives me peace of mind for sweat / oils and everyday wear. I’ve washed it and it came out fine with no weird shrinking, and the stitching still looks clean. For the price, it feels like good value if you’re trying to extend the life of a nicer pillow while keeping the sleep surface soft and breathable. It’s one of those small upgrades you don’t think about much once it’s on, which is kind of the point. It just works and helps me sleep more comfortably.

Soft and cooling
Color: White, Size: King, Color: White, Size: King
This pillow cover is great! Well made. Not too thin. Fits my queen pillow like a glove. Came out of the washing machine still looking brand new, with no zipper issues, which can happen with lower quality covers. Zero complaints.

Soft, Cooling Pillowcase That Smooths Out Chunky Filling
Color: White, Size: King, Color: White, Size: King
I accidentally ordered the king size instead of queen, but it still fits my shredded latex foam pillow fairly well and feels comfortable. The pillow has small but chunky latex shreds, and the added foam layer in this pillowcase not only smooths out those chunks but also adds a bit of extra thick comfort, making the pillow feel more uniform. It seems to help with temperature regulation—if anything, it’s subtly cooler or at least not any warmer than my previous pillowcase. I’ve washed it twice so far, and it shows no wear and seems well built, so it should hold up over time and seems totally washable. Overall, it’s a very functional item, and compared with similar products, the value seems reasonable; I’m happy with the purchase and just wish I had ordered the right size.

Good quality cover
Color: White, Size: Queen, Color: White, Size: Queen
First, this pillow cover arrived in a plastic bag (see 4th photo), not a box as the photos online show. Although that does not matter to me, it may matter to other people such as those who intend to give this as a gift. One of the photos I included shows the fabric makeup which is mostly polyester and memory foam with the outer cover having “40% Bamboo Rayon.” It seems like an overstatement to me to market this product as a “quilted bamboo pillow cover” where there’s very little, if any, actual bamboo in it. If you have read up on what “bamboo rayon” actually is, you’ll understand. The material make up aside, the cover is soft and puffier than a cotton pillowcase. Bamboo rayon does have qualities that allow airflow for a cooling type of effect. It washes very nicely. As for the size of the pillar cover, I have tried several pillows inside this case, and the case is at least 2 inches longer than every standard pillow I own (See second photo). Pillowcases with a zipper generally are more fitted in every dimension. This pillow cover fits in all dimensions, except for it is longer than necessary. Not a horrible thing, but worth mentioning. The sewing of this product is good. It has a standard plastic zipper. There’s piping around the entire seam area for touch of class. The gray piping on mine matches the quilting. This is not quilting of the standard sense where threads go through to the other side. It is more of a faux quilting, which you can that on the inside in the photo with the tag. Overall, it seems to be a good product especially for people who sweat when they sleep.
