Mills & Boon Love Inspired — Heartfelt stories that show that faith, forgiveness and hope have the power to lift spirits and change lives.

Their Fake Amish Betrothal - Rebecca Kertz

Desperate for a fresh start, Abigail Yost moves to a new Amish community to become a teacher — and to escape the heartache of her sister’s engagement to Abby’s former beau. Only, one of the townsfolk isn’t so welcoming. Carpenter Nathaniel Hostetler attempts to avoid the newcomer while building her cottage — he’d much prefer to be working on setting up a new dairy farm. When he witnesses Abby’s distress over a wedding invitation, Nate makes an unexpected offer: a fake engagement. But as the ceremony date approaches, they find that their pretend feelings are starting to become all too real...

His New Companion - Jill Kemerer

Six years after losing his fiancée, rancher Ty Moulten still struggles with grief. Organising a fundraiser in her honour and fostering a service dog feels like a step forward, and leads to meeting Ashlinn Burnier, the service dog training center’s new administrative assistant. As Ashlinn helps Ty plan the fundraiser, he finds himself falling for Fritz, the tiny dachshund in his care, and for Ashlinn — who has a service dog of her own. But Ashlinn worries her health challenges make her a burden, and Ty wonders if he can open his heart again. Will two hardworking pups help them choose love over holding onto fear?

The Rancher’s Secret Daughter - Jennifer Slattery

Just weeks before a horse vaulting performance, Xavier Shaw needs a new coach...and his only option is his ex. Charlotte Murphy broke his heart when she left Sage Creek without an explanation, but now she’s back to start an equine therapy business alongside her whip-smart little girl. As Xavier and Charlotte work together, old flames reignite and new connections deepen. But with Charlotte’s secret hanging over them, will they be able to embrace the family they’re becoming...or will the truth tear them apart once again?

A Unique and Incredible Tale
Format: Kindle
This book brilliantly shows what it feels like for me to go through the world neurodivergently. The characters truly resonate. The artistry of the layout and imagery is compelling and once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. What an authentic glimpse into an intense inner world!

Building something wonderful out of the broken pieces
Format: Hardcover
Meg Eden Kuyatt has done it again. I am a big fan of novel in verse, and this author is one reason why. The poetry delivers character, setting, and story in a clear, believable voice. The protagonist, V, is a middle school girl full of feelings, celebrating her difference while fighting for her place in the wonderland of neurotypicals. V introduces herself in vibrant socks that say “I am strange and wonderful.” And with that, we are off. V is reluctantly spending the summer with her grandma Jojo in the pristine white house that has been in her family for generations. History is definitely living here. The house is a character itself (and a metaphor). I love that V’s cousin Cat creates assemblages, an art form I was not familiar with. Cat describes it as taking discarded, broken stuff and turning it into something beautiful (another metaphor). There is a lot going on here and a satisfying resolution brought on by a heaping dose of empathy. Highly recommend for the suggested audience (juvenile fiction, grades 3-7), their teachers, and families with neurodivergence.

Emotionally messy relationships with unreliable narrators
Format: Hardcover
Meg Eden Kuyatt guides us through a beautifully lyrical journey into the life of V, an autistic girl forced to spend the summer with her overbearing grandmother. The story is often more metaphorical than literal, which works well thematically since it revolves around emotionally messy relationships with unreliable narrators, making the details of both the past and present difficult to pin down. Overall, a great read that will be appreciated by both kids and adults looking for mature, nuanced stories about dysfunctional families and the autistic experience.
