Break-In & Pre-Installation
The Kriss Vector platform requires a break-in period of approximately 350+ rounds and may exhibit issues prior to modification. Before installing this FRT, perform the following:
- Polish bolt lugs (ears) to a smooth finish
- Polish the FRT after fitting
- Polish action rail guides
- Thoroughly clean the firearm to ensure smooth cycling
Installation Steps
- Separate the lower and upper receiver halves.
- Remove optics or iron sights.
- Remove the top rail (roll pin and Allen screw for Gen 1).
- Slide off the top rail from stock to muzzle.
- Remove fire control group screws and extract the assembly.
- Remove trigger and disconnect.
- Install the FRT and perform initial test fit.
- Function check manually for any hangups.
- Remove and polish any contact points causing resistance.
- Reinstall and function check again.
- Manually actuate hammer and trigger to confirm reset.
- Repeat polishing if necessary.
- Reassemble firearm and apply lubrication (high-temp grease or ATF4 recommended).
Test Fire Procedure
- Load 1 round — verify bolt locks back.
- Load 2 rounds — test cycling.
- Load 3 rounds — confirm reliability.
- Full magazine — verify full performance.
If issues occur during testing, return to polishing, lubrication, and inspection steps.
