A Works Bell patented ball lock system is used in the RAPFIX GTC system. This technology is based on the one-touch steering system RAPFIX which has a proven track record. The use of a ball to join the convex and concave shapes achieves a smoother bond and less rattle.

A two-step lock is used as a safety measure in emergencies. The lock is not released until the safety trigger is slid in, preventing accidental steering wheel tilt while driving. The plunger mechanism can also suspend (stop) the tilt-up steering wheel in approximately 6 steps. The steering wheel can be suspended at the position desired depending on the meter hood and other characteristic features of the car type. Furthermore, a horn button may also be used. The horn terminals are built-in inside the main body (plug) of the product and in the tilt-up section (socket).

Many competitors' products with similar functions have structural issues that make controlling the rattling caused by the radial load on the steering wheel difficult. They sacrifice steering and steering feel in exchange for the convenience of tilt-up.
