Dual pumps, sharp focus, and smooth moderate energy

Inspired Nutraceuticals DVST8 Dark is a straightforward, moderate-stim pre-workout that's all about giving you a killer session with smart pump support, layered energy, hydration help, and focus boosters—instead of just cranking up the caffeine. At the full 2-scoop dose, you get 6,666mg L-citrulline, 2,000mg NO3-T® arginine nitrate, 3,200mg beta-alanine, 199.5mg total caffeine, and a solid focus lineup with L-tyrosine, choline sources, DMAE, and some special nootropic and stim ingredients.

The pump game here is strong. That 6,666mg L-citrulline is right in the sweet spot from studies—think 3-8g for boosting nitric oxide and blood flow. Citrulline ramps up arginine levels better than taking arginine straight, which helps widen blood vessels for better pumps. In the gym, that means your muscles feel fuller, get more oxygen, and hold that pumped look during high-rep stuff. But it doesn't stop there—they added 2,000mg NO3-T® arginine nitrate for nitric oxide via the nitrate-nitrite path. Hitting pumps from two directions like this is a smart move over just using citrulline alone.

Stamina is handled right too. The 3,200mg beta-alanine is the standard daily amount to build up carnosine in your muscles over time. It's not a quick buzz; it helps your muscles fight off that acid burn during tough reps, so you can push harder before fatigue kicks in. Consistency is key here—use it regularly.

The energy and focus profile is more sophisticated than the category

Inspired DVST8 Dark by Inspired Nutraceuticals contains 100mg Vitamin C, a clinical dose for training performance and pump.

Key Highlights

  • 6,666mg L-Citrulline at 2 scoops is a real deal for pumps—it's a solid dose that boosts arginine better than arginine itself, leading to better nitric oxide and those full, lasting pumps that weak 3g versions just can't match.
  • 2,000mg NO3-T® Arginine Nitrate brings in a second way to amp up nitric oxide, using the nitrate-nitrite path. This layers on top of citrulline for better overall blood flow than single-ingredient pump supps.
  • 3,200mg Beta-Alanine nails the daily dose needed to ramp up muscle carnosine. Over time, this helps buffer acid during brutal sets, letting you grind out more reps when it starts to hurt.
  • 199.5mg total caffeine from anhydrous and Infinergy® di-caffeine malate gives a smoother ride than one-shot caffeine hits. You feel the quick kick from anhydrous and a steady finish from the malate, avoiding that harsh crash.
  • 1,000mg L-Tyrosine at full dose helps with brain chemicals during tough workouts. You'll notice better focus and drive when you're breathing heavy and pushing limits.
  • CoLean™ delivers 300mg Alpha GPC 50% plus 200mg citicoline at 2 scoops for choline-based focus. Alpha GPC sharpens mind-muscle link right away, while citicoline keeps your attention steady with its own choline style.
  • 500mg DMAE DL-Bitartrate adds extra focus punch. It's not the main star like tyrosine or choline, but it helps create that alert, locked-in vibe for nootropic fans.
  • 20mg Naringin tweaks the stim feel beyond just caffeine. It can stretch out how long caffeine lasts, keeping the energy going strong through longer gym sessions.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders chasing hypertrophy who want real pumps and mind-muscle without crazy stims. 6,666mg L-citrulline and 2,000mg arginine nitrate deliver blood flow, choline-tyrosine keeps you focused on squeezes through long workouts.
  • Intermediate folks on push-pull-legs or upper/lower 4-6 days a week needing reliable pre. Moderate 199.5mg caffeine boosts drive, beta-alanine, electrolytes, and NO support keep it going past the early sets.
  • High-volume trainers who fade late in sessions. 3,200mg beta-alanine builds acid buffering over time, hydration helps hold muscle function as tiredness builds.
  • Athletes wanting more than basic caffeine pre-workouts. Layers anhydrous, Infinergy®, naringin, tyrosine, Alpha GPC, citicoline, DMAE, and extras for focused, aggressive training.
  • Sweaty gym rats in hot spots where pumps suffer from dehydration. Sea salt, potassium, magnesium keep fluids and nerves firing, beating dry stim-only options.
  • Label readers who want full disclosure. Shows every dose like citrulline, beta-alanine, tyrosine, caffeine—no prop blend mysteries.

How to Use

Begin with 1 scoop in 10-16oz cold water 20-30 minutes pre-workout to check how it hits. If it's good and you want the full power, do 2 scoops in 16-24oz; that's what gets you 6,666mg citrulline, 2,000mg arginine nitrate, 3,200mg beta-alanine, and 199.5mg caffeine. Shaker's best for mixing the actives and electrolytes evenly—no clumps like stirring. Empty stomach or light meal speeds it up; heavy food slows the caffeine and focus. Don't mix with other high-stims or big caffeine unless you're sure. Pairs great with creatine, intra carbs, and staying hydrated. For beta-alanine, use on training days or add off-day scoops to keep levels up. If sleep's key, skip within 6-8 hours of bed—naringin and dual caffeine make it linger. Keep it sealed cool and dry for easy scooping.

What to Expect

First 0-10 minutes: taste hits, it settles, and you might feel early buzz if stomach's empty. 10-20 minutes: anhydrous caffeine ramps up, and beta-alanine tingles can start at full 3.2g. 20-40 minutes: prime time to train—focus stack dials in, pumps build with movement. 40-90 minutes: holds steady thanks to di-caffeine malate and naringin, better than quick-crash caffeine. Days 1-7: feel the instant perks, but beta-alanine is loading. Weeks 2-4: carnosine builds with regular use, making hard sets easier to push through. It's less about bigger buzz, more about reliable stamina under fatigue.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine is in DVST8 Dark?

At the full 2-scoop serving, DVST8 Dark provides 199.5mg total caffeine from 325mg caffeine anhydrous-equivalent structure split across 162.5mg caffeine anhydrous and 50mg Infinergy® di-caffeine malate, which contributes the remaining caffeine yield. At 1 scoop, you get about half that amount, making it a practical starting point for newer users.

Is 1 scoop enough, or do I need the full 2 scoops?

1 scoop is the right place to start for tolerance, but the full formula is clearly built around 2 scoops. That is the serving that delivers 6,666mg citrulline, 2,000mg arginine nitrate, 3,200mg beta-alanine, 1,000mg tyrosine, and the complete focus matrix.

What makes the pump in DVST8 Dark different from standard pre-workouts?

Most pre-workouts rely on one nitric oxide ingredient, usually citrulline. DVST8 Dark combines 6,666mg L-citrulline with 2,000mg NO3-T® arginine nitrate, giving you nitric oxide support through both the arginine-NO and nitrate-nitrite-NO pathways.

Will DVST8 Dark make me tingle?

Possibly, especially at 2 scoops. The formula contains 3,200mg beta-alanine at the full serving, which commonly produces a temporary tingling sensation known as paresthesia; it is harmless and reflects the ingredient, not overall formula quality.

Is DVST8 Dark good for focus or mostly just energy?

It is built for both. Beyond caffeine, it includes 1,000mg L-tyrosine, CoLean™ providing Alpha GPC and citicoline, 500mg DMAE DL-bitartrate, NeuroCap™, SYnapsis™, and Luciferine™, creating a much more complete focus profile than basic energy-only pre-workouts.

Can I stack DVST8 Dark with creatine?

Yes, and it is one of the smartest stacks. DVST8 Dark does not include creatine, so pairing it with 3-5g creatine monohydrate adds phosphocreatine support for strength and repeated ATP output while this formula handles pump, stimulation, focus, and endurance.

Should I take DVST8 Dark every day or only on workout days?

Most users take it on training days, but there is a case for more consistent use if beta-alanine performance is a priority. Beta-alanine works through saturation of muscle carnosine over time, so regular intake helps maintain the benefit.

How long before training should I take it?

20-30 minutes pre-workout is the sweet spot for most users. That gives the caffeine, tyrosine, and specialty focus ingredients time to start working while letting you begin training as blood flow and stimulant effects are climbing.

Can I use DVST8 Dark for evening workouts?

Only if you know your stimulant tolerance and bedtime window. Even though the total caffeine is moderate, naringin and di-caffeine malate can extend the overall feel, so many users will want at least 6-8 hours between their dose and sleep.

Does DVST8 Dark contain proprietary blends?

No. The active formula is transparent, and the label discloses the doses of the meaningful performance ingredients rather than hiding them inside a blend.

I don't think Mike can produce anything below 5 stars. In his recent Christmas episode on the Naked Bible Podcast I was a bit wary of listening to it. I realize this is a review of his book here, but let me make my point. The problem with not wanting to listen to his Christmas episode is that I don't really care if Christmas was/is a pagan holiday. So, honestly, it wasn't appealing to me. Somehow I ended up listening to it, and I'm telling you the amount of information he crammed in there was FASCINATING. I'm not kidding. I was so tired of hearing that subject (because I've been born and raised into Christianity), but Mike and Trey did their thing and it had me on the edge of my metaphorical seat the entire time. If you listen to that episode (Naked Bible Episode 195) you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. And what's the point of all that I just said? It's that Mike doesn't do anything half way. All that he puts out is serious work that is worthy of much consideration. No Hillary v. Trump fact checking here (though I'm sure he'd encourage you to research what he's saying). The point is, however, that not everyone has the training that he or his contemporaries have. And THAT is exactly why it is paramount that we rely upon scholars who have said extensive training. I challenge you with this (something I've challenged myself to accept): You essentially know nothing about the Bible if you don't have not just Heiser's background, but other scholars such as John H. Walton. There are many to list, but Walton would be a good companion to list next to Heiser. If you're the lay-person, do yourself a favor and pick up this work, or The Unseen Realm (or both!) and any of Walton's work. Open up your mind and challenge yourself to realize that unless you are incredibly familiar with the Ancient Near East's way of life and thought processes, then it's highly likely that you don't actually understand what is going on when you read the Bible. Enter "The Bible Unfiltered." Considerations for the seminary student: This is a great book for those who need a quick reference on a particular subject. Heiser's name is well known, and thus to reference this book in one's papers, even for a one-liner, is to reference legitimate scholarship. I'm not advocating that one does one's entire paper off of just one chapter from this book, but my point is more-so that with Heiser's reputation it will be known that you're not quoting Joe Scholar who earned his PhD in I Do What I Want. If you know Mike then you know that he's done a lot of work to present to you CONTEXTUAL research on any given listed topic. For that alone the price is worth it (though it undoubtedly cost him more to do the research that it does for us to purchase the book). Considerations for the lay-person: 1. On p. 7, Heiser says, "If Bible study doesn't seem like work to you, you aren't really doing it." Yes, that's harsh, but so was Phinehas, Peter, Paul, and Jesus. (Even Bonhoeffer was harsh in his "The Cost of Discipleship")! Over and over again Heiser says on his podcast that Bible reading is not actually Bible STUDY (not yelling, I just don't have italics in this comment box). 2. This book is great for having a quick reference for subjects. You do not have to read the book in order to understand the content of any given chapter. I use this book to help direct me to other scriptures that I can't seem to remember. Here, Heiser treats topics with brevity, yet with depth at the same time--depth that stems from years of immersing hisself in the original cultural context, the surrounding culture's contexts, and original languages of the Bible. In other words, this book will act, for the lay person, as an appetizer that gets you excited for the full meal and subsequently spark a desire within you to finally take seriously contextual Bible study. If you've never read Heiser's stuff before, this is a great place for you to get introduced to his work. From here I'd recommend getting The Unseen Realm, and then Reversing Hermon. Follow all his other works at drmsh.com, nakedbiblepodcast.com, and moreunseenrealm.com (I'm not getting paid to say all of this). Considerations for the scholar: Rid yourself of your presuppositions, get with the times, and adopt the supernatural worldview of the Bible's authors, because yours isn't supernatural enough. (Can that be considered speaking the truth in love?...) (Pictures won't rotate for some reason. Sorry!). My hand on the book next to the Schuyler Bible shows the size of the book.

Content is better than the title!
Format: Paperback
The best quality of Heiser as a scholar/writer in my opinion is that he appreciates the academy but does not acquiesce to its influence. This is seen most in his correct interpretation of the identity of the sons of God in Gen 6 and the identity of Satan in Is 14 and Ez 28 etc. which were long abandoned and scorned by the academy. All 60 articles are well written with clarity and brevity!
