Although it is Arsenal’s home shirt for the season, the design is highly unusual compared with the club’s traditional bright red and white look. Nike used this deep burgundy/redcurrant tone as a tribute to one of Arsenal’s earliest historical colours, tying the shirt directly to the club’s farewell to Highbury. That is what makes it so distinctive.
