這本書：
★告訴孩子：我們有權利爭取自己的自由與平等，但是不該建立在剝奪他人權利的情況下。透過書中的6大生活場景，就能了解如何保護自己，也尊重他人。
★告訴家長：當孩子說出「這是我的自由」、「不公平」時，我們常常不知道該怎麼跟孩子解釋：為什麼不能無限上綱「自由與平等」的概念，而是必須學會尊重他人的權利。透過書中的人權探索小遊戲，跟孩子一起深入討論「自由」與「平等」的定義。
★告訴老師：「自由」與「平等」一直是重要的公民概念，然而孩子（甚至成人）經常誤會其中的涵意，反而侵犯到他人的權利。這本書運用了實際的情境案例，從認識《世界人權宣言》開始，清楚解釋「自由與平等」、「權利」的概念，非常適合在課堂上運用與討論，建立孩子的公民基礎。
