Overview

The MI 3115 PV Analyser is Metrel’s professional-grade photovoltaic (PV) and electrical installation tester, designed for testing 1500 V photovoltaic systems with precision and efficiency. It supports all Category 1 and Category 2 tests and measurements in accordance with IEC/EN 62446-1 and EN 62446-2 standards, making it ideal for solar installers, maintenance engineers, and commissioning technicians.

The MI 3115 performs a wide range of PV measurements — including insulation resistance of PV strings, continuity of PE conductors, Isc and Uoc tests, and complete I/U characteristic measurements. Using its wireless remote unit, the analyser simultaneously records real-time irradiation and cell temperature, ensuring accurate conversion of measured values to STC (Standard Test Conditions) and direct comparison with manufacturer data.

An intuitive 4.3” colour touch screen provides full control of all test parameters, results review, and data management. With AUTOSEQUENCE® capability, users can execute multiple Category 1 tests at once — automating test workflows and reducing setup time for large PV installations.

This is a great guide for underwriting multifamily deals for someone with some basic to moderate knowledge of underwriting. I am a new student to this field and have to stop and google some of the acronyms. For a future version, I think adding an extra page for the acronyms used, definition and equation would be helpful. I think that the font could be larger and darker. Adding mathematical formulas in the book would provide visualization as well. Rob can also provide a sample OM for the reader to use with his underwriting model and compare to his completed one. Again, I am a newbie so my review may change as I gain knowledge in this area. I enjoyed listening to Rob on Youtube/Podcast and hope to learn more from him.
