Description: A ROSE…. made from regeneratively farmed Cabernet grapes grown by us in our Metcalfe vineyard.

We grew some amazing grapes out at Metcalfe in 2025, deepening our commitment to regenerative viticulture, our understanding of the different blocks and the wines we want to make from each parcel. This Rosé represents the first pick of the year and comes from deep granitic sands in the Road Block. Picked early for bright acid, just as fruit flavor is starting to reveal itself. Hand-picked and direct pressed to stainless steel tank for natural fermentation on most solids, with a smaller portion racked off solids and fermented in seasoned puncheons. Resting over winter in tank and barrel, racked early spring with a sulphur addition prior to bottling.

IN THE GLASS…a leaner and fresher offer this year, opting for an earlier pick to capture delicious pink grapefruit acidity for summer joy. It feels like a bit of a serious drink…and it is, but it's also really great company in less lofty, more free and easy times.

Almost perfect...upraised logo should be left off
This toy is great for relentless chewers with strong jaws! It would be almost perfect if it didn't have a "K9" logo in raised rubber on it. That is the place that my aggressive chewer shepherd/bulldog mix focuses on and is able to get small chunks off. Without that logo, he would chew the ball more evenly, instead of fixating on that one spot. He loves this ball and has chewed on it for about an hour off & on each of the 11 days he has had it. Although it is very durable so far, the flaw is the upraised logo.

Unpredictable bounces

My 3-year old Cavapoo loves these little toys, although I haven’t given them to her all at once. Typically, she is able to chew a little hole in anything with a squeaker within hours. The first one I gave her, it took her more than a day to chew off a little ear, but she still love to play with it. The second one is completely intact after more than a week. What both of us like is that the shapes with tiny nubs make the toys bounce unpredictably. They are small and light-weight which makes them easy to throw in the house without doing any damage. I am careful to not throw them at the TV or delicate items. I’ll actually buy them again when she needs more toys. EDIT 3/19/2026: It’s 3.5 months since I first wrote about these toys. I just added all of the Chiwawa toys to favorites so I can find them again—if or when these ever wear out.
