Natural Earth Paint Kit contains:

• Six packets of hand-crafted, powdered paint which each create approximately 300ml-473ml (10-16oz) of paint, depending on how much water is added. Colours included are: Venetian Red, Orange Ocher, Yellow Ocher, Green (Terre Verte), Ultramarine Blue, and Brown (Raw Umber).
• A set of six biodegradable mixing cups with lids.

How to use:

Mix the natural earth paint with water 1:1 or play with the proportions for thicker, more tempera-like paint, or thinner, watercolor paint.

We recommend that you mix only as much as you need for one painting session. Refrigerate mixed paint in a covered container to keep good for up to 2-3 weeks.

Explore using it on paper, wood, glass, stones, and other surfaces. Commonly used by adults as well for painting wooden toys, scrap booking and crafts. Note that they are washable (unless sealed).

What are the ingredients in the natural earth paint? Our Natural Earth Paints contain corn starch, gum arabic (tree sap) & natural earth & mineral pigments.

What is the brush made from? Is it cruelty-free? Our brushes are cruelty-free! Our eco-friendly brushes are made from corn fiber, bamboo, and recycled aluminum ferules. 

Are your paints Vegan (not derived from animals)? All of our Natural Earth Paints are vegan, with the exception of our Natural Face Paint which contains Beeswax.

Safety and Quality 

Can my child or I eat your paints? Although they are non-toxic, our paints are not intended for consumption. However, our Natural Egg Dye Kits are FDA approved for use in food!

Are your products free of nuts, dairy, and gluten for people with allergies? All of our products are free of gluten and dairy. Our only product containing nuts is our Refined Walnut Oil, but it is not processed in our facility.

Are your products cruelty-free? Absolutely! None of our products are ever tested on animals.

Have these products been tested for health safety? Yes, all of the paints, pigments, and supplies have been tested by government certified toxicologists and are also third party tested. They are certified completely non-toxic.

Is it toxic to breathe the dust before mixing it into paint? It’s not healthy to breathe any type of dust into your lungs, even if it is non-toxic and natural (like our pigments), or even dust from a dirt road! When mixing your paint, use caution to avoid creating clouds of dust. If you gently scoop the pigment and carefully mix it with water, no dust should be created. Some people who are extra sensitive or concerned about dust can wear a certified mask for greater protection.

Do your paints wash off skin, furniture, clothes, etc.? Our paints wash off of skin very easily. Our paints also wash off of hard surfaces, but they may stain clothing, carpet, or fabric.

Can I use your Earth Paints as Face Paint? Earth pigments have been used by most indigenous cultures to paint their faces and bodies for thousands of years. Our Natural Face Paints are made with cosmetic-grade pigments and organic ingredients and are perfect for any kind of body painting. However, the children's paints contain gum arabic and cornstarch, which are safe ingredients but can be drying or irritating to some individuals’ skin with prolonged contact. We recommend using our Natural Face Paints instead because they’ve been specifically formulated to nourish the skin while providing vibrant, skin-safe color.

Can your Natural Earth Paint be used for children’s bathtub finger paint (similar to Crayola foam soap)? Our Natural Earth Paints are made with only corn starch, gum arabic (tree sap) and natural earth pigments. While all are non-toxic it is unknown what will happen in a bathtub or mixed with soap, since the corn starch is a thickener and the gum is a binder. It may work fine but we can't say for sure. You can always order one packet of our Natural Earth Paint and give it a try!

How much can you dilute the paint to use on paper or fabric? Children's earth paint can be diluted with water as much as you want. It becomes more and more like watercolor as you dilute it and works great on fabrics and paper.

What is your packaging made from? We use 100% post-consumer recycled packaging, biodegradable cups and lids, home-compostable pigment pouches, and recyclable glass and aluminum bottles for our products.
