The Contax Zeiss Biogon 28mm (rare black edition) is a wide-angle prime lens designed for Contax G mount rangefinder systems, featuring a 28mm focal length with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. Its Biogon optical formula—derived from a symmetric wide-angle design—incorporates high-precision glass elements to achieve controlled distortion and consistent edge-to-edge rendering. The lens construction consists of 7 elements in 5 groups, optimized for uniform illumination across the frame. It supports a minimum focusing distance of 0.5 m, with autofocus driven by the Contax G camera body. The all-metal barrel and black finish variant emphasize durability and limited production positioning within the Contax G system.
