COMING SPRING 2026!

The AVA L1 (Linear One) is a high-performance loudspeaker designed for the discerning music lover seeking state-of-the-art performance in a compact and affordable package.

The L1 is able to set new standards of performance for a product of this class through meticulous engineering, careful cost/benefit analyses, and extended listening trials.

Some of the technical features you'll find in the L1 include:

Advanced, low-diffraction baffle. The large, rounded corners found on the L1 cabinet provide a smooth transition between the baffle and sides. This dramatically reduces diffraction-related wave perturbations and results in smoother on and off-axis system response.

A high-linearity soft-dome HF driver in a custom waveguide. The combination of the low-diffraction baffle and the directivity control provided by the HF driver's waveguide eliminates most of the diffractive re-radiation of high frequency energy present in conventional systems. The waveguide simultaneously improves the diver's inherent linearity. You'll hear the result as sweeter, more transparent highs, significantly improved imaging, and an elimination of the lower treble roughness that has come to be taken for granted in conventional designs.

A high-linearity 170mm (6.7") mid/bass driver with extra-long excursion. The L1's mid/bass driver has a maximum output comparable to many drivers with a much greater diameter but with the midrange performance of a smaller driver. Midrange performance is further enhanced by the mineral loaded polymer matrix cone and optimized rubber surround.

High slope, in-phase crossovers. The L1 uses crossovers that are phase-coherent through the crossover region, minimizing changes in frequency response with vertical displacement. Combined with the simple two-driver, two-way topology, this produces the smoothest possible reverberant response and uncolored reproduction in any listening environment. Additionally, the high crossover slopes reduce intermodulation distortion compared to less steep networks. You will hear this as cleaner transients and more transparent sound.

Specifications

Frequency response: 58Hz to 20kHz ± 2dB in free space; -3dB at 40Hz under typical listening conditions.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.
