Calathea Beauty Star is a real showstopper for any indoor jungle. Its long, elegant leaves are painted with stripes of lime, emerald, and pink that shimmer in the light. Like all Calatheas, it’s a bit of a diva — but that’s part of the fun. With the right balance of moisture, warmth, and humidity, this tropical beauty will reward you with lush new leaves that unfurl in the most satisfying way.

Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves or fade their colour. It will also tolerate lower light, though growth will be slower.

Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Calatheas appreciate filtered water or rainwater if possible, as they can be sensitive to tap water minerals.

Temperature: Loves a warm, stable environment — ideally between 18–26°C. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Potting: Pot in our Thirst Trap Mix, which provides the airy, moisture-retentive base Calatheas enjoy. Repot every year or two in spring when roots start to fill the pot.

Hot Tips: Beauty Stars love humidity! Group it with other tropical plants or place it near a humidifier for best results. Don’t mist (it’s not effective) — try a pebble tray or move it to a naturally humid room instead.
