Dorothy Draper was outrageous, controversial, irreverent, and the top interior decorator of her time. The great-great granddaughter of Oliver Wolcott - whose signature is on the Declaration of Independence - Dorothy Draper was born in 1889 in the exclusive community of Tuxedo Park, New York. Brought up where beautiful surroundings were a birthright, she broke with tradition by turning her aesthetic sense into a profitable career. And what a career. Dorothy Draper reinvented the profession of interior decorating. Rejecting the dowdy color schemes of the Edwardian era, she made brilliant colors, big floral patterns, and bold contrasts her trademark. At a time when creating a perfect period setting was a decorator's goal, she dismissed the use of antiques as an insecurity; ignoring historical accuracy, her advice was to 'jumble periods cheerfully.' An iconoclast who thought nothing of telling clients to dye antique Persian rugs, Draper's interiors formed the backdrop to the elite of her day. When Dorothy Draper transformed three row houses on New York's Sutton Place, she changed the then shabby neighborhood into one of the most prestigious in Manhattan. The pinnacle of her career was perhaps the renovation of the Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia, and its opening in 1948 was a great social event. America's wealthiest families were there along with Vanderbilts, Astors, and Whitneys, the guests of honor were the duke and duchess of Windsor. Draper had designed everything from the servants' uniforms to the ballroom chandelier. Though given to moments of frivolity, Dorothy Draper's patrician manner seemed grand and uncompromising, often alienating her staff as well as clients. Many of her professional colleagues were unimpressed: The architect Frank Lloyd Wright was so appalled by her taste that he publicly called her an "inferior desecrator." But whatever her detractors said, there were many for whom her word was the final one.

One size smaller is perfect!
Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years
This suit fit perfect but I did order one size smaller than my grandson normally wears. It is very well made and he can't wait to wear it in the wedding.

Summer wedding kids suit
Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years, Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years
Bought this suit for my son in the 10 youth size and honestly was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price. The navy color looks sharp and dressy without being too stiff or uncomfortable. The material has a little stretch, which helped it fit nicely and made it comfortable for him to move around in. The adjustable waist was a huge plus, especially for growing kids. It fit true to size overall, though the blazer sleeves were slightly long on my son. The pants had a nice slim look without being too tight. We paired it with white sneakers for a more modern look and it came out adorable. This would be perfect for weddings, graduations, concerts, communion, school events, or family photos. Overall, very happy with the purchase and would definitely buy again.

Very Modern Handsome Suit
Color: Grey, Size: 7 Years, Color: Grey, Size: 7 Years
This is an incredibly sharp looking suit for the little guy. Great price and features, too. I made a mistake in sizing up instead of down and first one was too sloppy on him and would need alterations. He is thin and very thin in the waist. There is a lot of adjustment with buttons in waistband and coat hides the bunching. This shirt and coat will easily take a fuller body than slim I believe. He loves posing in it and feels very classy. Best purchase for a formal suit that will last longer than most kids clothes size wise. Felt bad about returning but careful folding and packing got it good as new.
