Burial at Home Plate offers a colorful look at the Pittsburgh Pirates, with an emphasis on offbeat moments in team history. Read about the doubleheader completed underwater; the Pittsburgh outfielders whose pursuit of a batted ball was halted by a gun-wielding Cincinnati fan; the pitcher who earned a victory while taking a nap; the dead man who tied a franchise record for games played; the sparrow that flew from beneath batter Casey Stengel’s cap; and the rookie who struck out while seated on the bench.

Burial at Home Plate touches on the indoor game that was rained out; the throng of 50,000 that turned out in Pittsburgh for a game played more than 400 miles away; the tipsy pitcher who fell asleep inside the tarp during a game; the future MVPs who delivered their first major league hits while still in the minors; the FBI agent who “pinch hit” for Ralph Kiner; and the Pirates manager who disproved the notion that you can’t steal first base.

Burial at Home Plate also shines the spotlight on the Green Weenie, the alabaster plaster, Aunt Minnie, the Rickey Dinks, Destiny’s Darlings, Dr. Strangeglove, eephus pitches and—the inspiration for the book’s title—a strange pre-game interment that took place at home plate.

Good price & variety
I ordered this just before Christmas to give away as gifts and gave one to my bf as well. All the scents were strong and I enjoyed them. My boyfriend and I used the one that I gave him (patchouli scent with the scrub) to test it out. It was very exfoliating. It didn’t bother us, maybe we got a good batch, or just have skin not as gentle as others. It felt similar to a sugar scrub. For the price, you get a good amount and variety of this soap. I might get another box just for myself. If you check the ingredients they are actually very simple & natural, not full of parabens or random chemicals that you can’t even pronounce.

Nice soaps!
After visiting Colorado and trying real goats milk soap we have yet to find anything we liked as much. On a whim I purchased this pack. My husband and I both like them very much. As much as we like to shop local it’s been hard to find what we wanted. We will definitely purchase again. We like the scents, the natural exfoliators and the softness it leaves our skin.

Very good bars of soap collection.
My wife doesn’t like the liquid soap because a lot of them say detergent and she says she’s not a dish or a piece of clothing. So this set looks really appealing with a variety of fragrances and scents. It will last you a while. The size of each soap bar is the average size of soap bar. It lathers very well, while being soft on the skin and ganking dirt and odors like it does it’s basically a steal.

Good for exfoliating
Color: Beige (4 Packs)
These are great for saving and using soap slivers. I can't stand to throw out something useful but once they get too small they're hard to hold onto. I had a mesh bag but it started to come apart and I thought these would hold up better. These bags are thick and sturdy. They're a little stiff at first but softened up quickly. They're great for exfoliating. The only change I would like to see is the wood closing bead changed to a locking clip as it slides open all the time.

Great product!
Color: Beige (8 Packs)
I buy handmade soap from a local soap maker, but I’ve always had trouble with it lasting—if I leave it in a soap dish, it never dries properly and melts away too quickly. I used to use loofah socks, but they were frustrating: the knots wouldn’t stay tied and they tore apart easily. I decided to give these a try, and I’m impressed! I had a couple of concerns going in. First, I wasn’t sure they’d fit the larger-sized handmade bars I use—but they do! It’s a snug fit at first, which can make lathering a bit tricky, but after one or two uses it softens up and starts to lather beautifully—honestly, better than the mesh loofahs I’ve used. The design is thoughtful: the knot stays secure, and the bead keeps the soap from slipping out—both huge improvements over other products I’ve tried. The biggest surprise? The exfoliation. It’s effective without being harsh, even on sensitive areas. My skin felt softer than it ever did with sugar or salt scrubs. That’s an unexpected bonus I didn’t even realize I needed! Highly recommend—especially if you’re using handmade or natural soaps and want to make them last longer.
