This 1:76 scale set from Oxford looks at the Ford Transit passage through time from its original launch in 1965 to the present day.  Its capability to keep up within the competitive realms of small commercial vehicles is no doubt due to its regular upgrades, modifications, numerous body shapes from high to low, long to short  and multi functional options. It is no surprise that is a firm favourite on the roads.

We start with 76FT1001 -White, the original body shape from 1965. The Ford Transit Mk1 had the longest production run of any of the Transit vans since and remained so until the first facelift in 1977/78. It was built at Ford’s Langley Plant in Berkshire and then, due to overwhelming demand, in Southampton as well as various European manufacturing bases.

In pristine white, our Transit Mk1 is registered GYH 194D from 1966. Black and silver exterior trim, a completely black interior and white wheels shout simplicity but overall production of the Ford Transit Mk1 lasted for 20 years until it was replaced by the second generation all-new VE6 platform in 1986, so it proved anything but simple!

76FT2001 Ford Transit Mk2 - White is the Oxford replica of the restyled Ford Transit MkII which Ford launched in 1977, continuing in production until 1985.Our model is registered C332 OYJ from that last year, which coincided with the Ford Transit reaching an amazing production quantity of 2 million vehicles. Decorated in white with black and silver trim, the interior is black too, apart from white interior door panel inserts.  It comes as a two cab door van with a (non) sliding door on the near side and two rear doors.

In real life, the Mk 2 came radically restyled and was available in 6 body styles,  5 engine sizes,  short or long wheelbase, different roof heights, 6 axle ratios and options for 12 – 17 interior seats.  Its versatility no doubt contributed to the Transit’s amazing success.

76FT3001 Ford Transit Mk3 covers the Ford Transit timeline from 1986 to 2003 and our model is registered H866 ELP from 1990 and is a replica of the long wheelbase version, which you may have seen released as a single model some time ago. Once again, it appears in pure white with black and chrome trim and a pale grey interior.  As before in real life,  the Mk3  upgrades included a new shape, various styles and formats as before, lending itself to increased  and diverse customer requirements.

76FT4001 Ford Transit Mk4 – White is a replica of the 3rd Generation Transit dating from 2000-2006 and Oxford has released it previously as a single model, so if you missed it first time around, get it this time! The 1:76 scale Oxford replica of the Ford Transit is registered BK53 NBO from 2003. In contrast to the all white body with black and silver external trim, the interior is moulded in black including the floor, dashboard, steering wheel and interior door panels while the seats are pale grey.

Designed in the USA, the Mk4 contained many cutting edge features and was available with automatic transmission, with either front or rear wheel drive or a turbo-diesel engine option. Further features introduced in 2003 included a new instrument cluster with a digital odometer and from 2004 there was also an optional 6-speed manual gearbox.

The 76FT001 Short Wheelbase (SWB) with Medium Roof represents the latest Mk5 Transit with its streamlined sloping nose, modelled on the SWB option and registered ND09 AWF. Painted in brilliant white, it features black external trim and silver wheels.  Across the rear doors, you will see the Transit name on the near side and the Ford badge on the offside.  The interior is moulded in pale grey with black dashboard and steering wheel. You’ve seen this model with the low roof already, so add this variation to your fleet.

Sizes run smaller, at least for me
Size: 9, Color: Allblack015
I have a 8.5/9.0 size shoe, depending on the manufacturer. I purchased these exclusively for work, on a slippery (paper dust) concrete floor and a forklift. The main con here is there is NO size 9.0, only 8.5 or 9.5. I think this is odd, but I am sure there is some reason for it. Nonetheless, I ordered the 9.5 in black. I was expecting it to be a little large. However, this shoe fits me perfectly. Thus my reasoning that, for me, these run small. These stretch. They are not constrictive. I despise tight constricting shoes since they usually hurt my feet. I also hate shoes that are too big as they tend to make me trip (I am already uncoordinated). They have a softer rubber/plastic'y sole. I dont know the material, other than "Phylon". I have only worn for two weeks and they are comfortable. I do feel their flexibility. These shoes are not a stiff shoe. For me, that is a plus. However, non slip they are not. In defense, I have not experienced any shoe that is non slip on the floor at my work. The smooth concrete floor is often covered in a finite paper dust. This makes it slippery and no shoe can stand up to my lack of coordination. My biggest like is they are very breathable. My feet sweat! During the hot days, I need my feet to breathe. These do that quite well. Also, I enjoy and actual solid sole. Some other "fancy" shoes I purchased were comfortable, but they had a very thin tread and wore out quickly. They did not last long. Time will tell if these last long. Another plus for these shoes, is there is very little text on the shoe. The only text is on the tongue of the shoe. They are also easy to put on, almost like a slip on shoe that does not fall off. Out of the box (and still now) there are no defects. It appears to be well put together. If I can get 8 months use out of these, I will be absolutely buying again.

$30 descent shoe with Foam sole no arch support
Size: 13, Color: Lightgrey015
I got these and they were in plastic smashed together to conserve space. I cut the plastic wrapper and put them on. They are a minimalist shoe. Not much support. It's like they tried to copy the sketchers, but took out 25% of the quality. It's a good soft foam sole, light weight and slip on. I wore these for nearly 9 hours on concrete at my job with out foot pain. For under $30 shoe you probably won't be able to build a sole that is arch supportive and made for longevity. If your going out for a few hours around the town, these will be comfortable. I am ditching the inserts and putting in real inserts to see if these will work for multiple purchases. Great styling no issues with build quality that I can see. Again these are under $30 not $75, so if your expectation is a durable shoe good support these are not for you. On the other hand they're comfortable for going out shopping and eating out while looking descent. I wouldn't wear these for more then a few hours as they're not really proper fit shoes with arch supports.

Lightweight and comfortable for everyday use
Size: 9, Color: All Black, Size: 9, Color: All Black
These sneakers are very lightweight and comfortable, making them great for daily wear and long walks. The breathable material helps keep your feet cool, and the slip-on design is convenient. The non-slip sole provides decent grip on most surfaces, which is a plus. However, they may not be ideal for intense workouts or very wet conditions. The build quality is good for the price, though durability over the long term might vary. Overall, a solid budget-friendly option for casual use and light activities.

Comfortable, Lightweight Walking Shoes with Strong Value
Size: 12, Color: All Black
These Feethit men’s walking sneakers provide solid comfort and performance at a budget-friendly price point. The breathable knitted mesh upper keeps airflow steady, making them suitable for long hours of standing or walking. Comfort & Fit: The shoes feel lightweight and flexible on foot. The cushioned insole offers noticeable comfort and moderate arch support, helping reduce fatigue during extended wear. They perform well during long shifts without causing hot spots or irritation when properly sized. Sizing: Fit appears generally true to size, though buyers should check the size chart carefully since some customers report variation. Those between sizes may want to verify measurements before ordering. Slip-On & Lacing Design: Although described as slip-on, the lace-up structure allows adjustability for a more secure fit. The soft inner lining reduces friction around the ankle. Sole & Traction: The rubber outsole includes anti-slip grooves that provide reasonable grip on common indoor and outdoor surfaces. Cushioning offers light shock absorption for walking and everyday use. Durability: For the price range, build quality is respectable. While not positioned as premium performance athletic shoes, they hold up well for casual wear, gym sessions, and work shifts. Value for Money: Compared to higher-priced brand-name athletic shoes, these deliver comparable comfort for a significantly lower cost. They offer strong value for those seeking practical, comfortable footwear without paying premium brand pricing. Overall Impression: A lightweight, comfortable walking shoe suitable for long hours of wear. Breathable design, decent support, and affordable pricing make them a solid everyday option.
