"Cockney Girl" is a second-generation Jewish-British child's eyewitness account of tumultuous East London and her eccentric family in England 1934-1950. The writer was then aged 5-20. This is an autobiography written about times of great social change.

This zeitgeist, before, during and after World War Two, is based on memories and diaries and is, according to Elie Wiesel, 'unmapped history'.

Both cockneys, friend Joycey Kennel and I, roamed East London most Saturdays while my operaphile mother set and permed ladies hair and my deaf, barber father, shaved dockers for pub nights and Christmas.

In 1939, London children were hastily evacuated from expected Nazi bombing to country foster parents who ranged from kind to concupiscent. When she was 14, her mummy sent her to The White House Jewish refugee orphanage: Great Chesterford.

Here, she began her diary, rejoined the tribe and, while a teenager, met Yank servicemen and wounded British soldiers. With peace, aged 16, I returned home, a stranger, attended LSE and immigrated to America, but remained a Cockney Girl.

Color and Material
Color: Coffee
Color is not as described; it is much lighter than the photos. It appears more like a toffee color, while I was hoping for a deeper brown shade. Additionally, the material does not feel like leather.

Great little handbag, especially for the price. Must buy!
Color: Coffee
I am very pleased with this little bag. I wanted to try out a smaller bag to see if I want to invest in a high-end designer bag that is about this size. I still wanted a trial bag that looked kind of posh, but casual. This bag is excellent. The leather is very fine. The hardware is sturdy and of good quality. It just looks like you paid way more for it than you did. I can fit a small bi-fold wallet, my way too big keychain, a lippie, and my eye drops. I think, if I wanted to cram, I could get my Samsung S22 in there as well. But I usually have that out anyway. This isn't a day bag. It is more for running errands when you don't want to be carrying a big, heavy bag around. I think I will get the designer bag. But I'm definitely keeping this one, too.

Supper quality
Looks great. Looks like real leather. Large but doesn’t look it. Holds my small purse/wallet perfectly I can easily take it out of the purse and use the small purse for yoga and other events I don’t need a large purse for. Exactly what I needed. I love it.

I like the look and feel of the bag. It is small and lightweight but it still fits my laptop so it makes going to and from work easy.
