The prospectus that announced the creation of The Institute of the Humanities promised an inaugural course of twelve lectures, to be given by its founder and entitled, Concerning a New Interpretation of International History. (Exposition and Examination of A. J. Toynbee s work, A Study of History.) But the course as given (in 1948-49) went much farther than that announcement, for the examination consisted principally of a critique of Toynbee s work from the point of view of Ortega s own doctrines, together with the unfolding of his personal ideas about the science of history and the progress of peoples in particular the Romans with frequent side excursions, meant to be systematic, into the crisis of the present time. The central theme of these pages becomes the analysis of life established in illegitimacy . . . of which the two gigantic examples are the declining days of the Roman Empire and the period in which we ourselves are living. To the modern crisis, Ortega brings a basic analysis and a program of reform for intelligence by which contemporary life might emerge from the confusion it now suffers."Binding Type: Paperback

I LOVE this sunscreen!! Super affordable and lightweight for your skin!
Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
I love this sunscreen!! Love it so much I bought 3 bottles of it!
Super lightweight and blends right into the skin, and I don’t feel not sticky!
I got super excited and got this primarily because it’s lightweight, super affordable, SPF 50 for high protection, and it said there’s no alcohol or fragrance…heres the catch tho, there IS a slight sunscreen smell, but you only notice it when applying it and if you keeping smelling it on yourself up close during the day.
Other than that, it’s truly fragrance free in the sense that you aren’t just standing there doing your thing, and keep getting HIT with the scent of sunscreen for hours, like other sunscreens! The scent is extremely light and pleasant when you go to smell it on yourself.
Don’t EVER discontinue this please please please!!!!

It’s great! So light weight!
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
I have been testing this out for a month now.
I love it. This does have avobenzone in it, and because of that, I do NOT put it around my eyes as avobenzone is a chemical sunscreen ingredient that typically tends to cause the of sensation of burning eyes! At least for me it does.
I use an Australian sunscreen around my eyes that doesn’t have anything that irritates my eyes. So for the rest of my face, this stuff is great. It literally is so serum like sinks into your skin within five minutes or sooner. Now it’s not the most hydrating thing in the world so if you have a dry skin, you still wanna go in with a moisturizer before however, if you have oily skin, this is your girl right here. Skin like finish, not super matte and not dewy at all. I do not wear primer so I don’t know how it plays with that. Works great under my makeup and has never caused pilling.
Quick, easy, simple ingredients, definitely sensitive skin friendly, and no fragrance at an affordable cost-effective price! Now if only banana boat decided to go cruelty free😭
9/10 bc not CF 💔

Great sensitive skin sunscreen
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
Love this! I have sensitive skin. this did not sting my eyes, or burn my cheeks. Left no white cast. I'm not noticing any scent. It just feels like bare skin, it's not heavy, drying, oily or sticky. No pilling. Went on smooth, not streaky, looks like skin once dried down, not patchy. I hope they keep this in stock forever!

Any Francis Duncan mystery is a joy
Format: Paperback
As a lover of classic British mysteries, my chance discovery of this author from the mid-20th Century has been a real joy. Every page keeps my interest, which I cannot say about many mysteries I read by well-regarded authors. Duncan's books are also not guilty of that staple of modern mysteries that I am getting so weary of: a detective drowning in their personal angst, fighting emotional slings and arrows, and of course, a tragic love life, etc, which takes up so much of the bulk of his or her attention. Duncan's Miss Marple-like character Mordecai Tremaine is in many ways a very ordinary type of person, but he is able to blend in with quite different types of social groups; groups which fester with secrets, lies and a hidden murderer...until Tremaine untangles it all in his unassuming but brilliant way. He does it by observing people as much as by physical clues, which is similar to the Agatha Christie approach. This mystery, "Murder for Christmas" was not the typical "murder at a country house at Christmas" mystery which I thought it would be. It was quite surprising, startling, enthralling, and a joy to read.

Delightful Golden Age Mystery
Format: Paperback
Retired tobacconist Mordecai Tremaine is invited to a Christmas house party by a man he doesn't know well. He chooses to go, because of the intriguing postscript stating that "something was wrong" in the household. That something was most definitely wrong was proven when a dead Father Christmas was discovered under the tree on Christmas Eve. Mordecai uses his sharp eye and keen reasoning to investigate his fellow house guests to determine the motive and method of the crime.
This was a delightful mystery, with an engaging protagonist and a well imagined cast of characters. The mystery itself was intelligent, believable, and nicely plotted. Duncan's writing wasn't perfect; there were repeated phrases and the occasional awkward sentence. Despite that, I would most definitely recommend this nearly forgotten Golden Age mystery. I will most certainly be reading more of Mordecai's adventures.
