RA 8256 STATION MANAGER HAT.This particular hat represents the same design style of the first issue from 1964 but 2nd phase or batch. For reasons of cost reduction by British Rail the manufacturer produced these hats with yellow (gold) cloth cord rank grade embellishment instead of the previous gold bullion wire around the hat and on the peak visor. Further changes occurred with the introduction of large gilt double arrow badges applied directly to the hat without any padded felt cushion. The Station Managers were issued a dark grey uniform with grade markings around tunic cuffs, gilt buttons and respective badges.
This hat is in excellent condition with no moth damage of rips/tears and no fading. This hat is a size 58.
