Totem KIN Play Tower II Powered Floorstanding Speaker at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The KIN Play Tower II is a fully powered 2-way floorstanding speaker system from Totem Acoustic (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. The flagship of Totem's KIN powered speaker line, the Tower II builds on the success of the original award-winning KIN Play series with a second-generation 400W total Class D amplifier, an expanded connectivity suite including HDMI ARC, and proprietary dual 5" Natural Hybrid woofers paired with a 1" Infused Soft Dome tweeter. With a frequency response from 30Hz to 22kHz ±3dB and 2 x 200W RMS of on-board amplification, the Tower II functions as a complete audio hub requiring no external amplifier or receiver. It connects via HDMI ARC, Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD, optical (24bit/192kHz), phono/line RCA, 3.5mm AUX, and AMP IN for external streamers, with a subwoofer output for system expansion. Standing 40.19 inches tall, the pair is sold complete with remote control, speaker wire, interconnects, magnetic grilles, base, and isolation feet, in Satin Black or Satin White. FutureAudiophile praised the Tower II for its "huge dynamic range" that "had no trouble filling a medium-sized listening room."

400W Class D Amplification and HDMI ARC — Complete Entertainment Hub

The KIN Play Tower II uses an active/passive speaker configuration: one tower houses the 2nd-generation 400W total Class D stereo amplifier (2 x 200W RMS), while the second tower is a passive speaker connected to the active unit by the included 12-foot speaker cable. The 2nd-generation Class D amplifier is designed specifically to drive the Tower II's dual 5" Natural Hybrid woofers with the control and current required for their full dynamic capability, producing bass extension to 30Hz in a powered floorstanding speaker that FutureAudiophile confirmed "sounds great" and requires no subwoofer for most listening applications. The most significant addition to the Tower II over its predecessor is HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), which allows a single HDMI cable to both connect the television and return its audio signal to the Tower II, enabling TV volume control via the television's own remote. The optical input accepts digital audio at up to 24bit/192kHz resolution, and the high-resolution DAC supports FLAC, WAV, and AAC at up to 24-bit resolution. Auto on/input sensing wakes the system when a signal is detected on a connected input.

Connectivity Suite — Turntable to Streamer to TV

The KIN Play Tower II's connectivity addresses the full range of sources a contemporary listener might own. The stereo RCA input is switchable between phono and line level, allowing direct connection of a turntable without a separate phono preamplifier — a convenience that eliminates an entire component from the signal chain. The AMP IN input is a preamplifier bypass that accepts a line-level signal directly into the power amplifier stage, enabling seamless integration with external network streamers including Sonos and Bluesound systems that handle their own volume control and source selection, with auto on/input sensing waking the Tower II when the streamer begins playing. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD provides high-resolution wireless streaming from smartphones, tablets, and computers. A 3.5mm AUX input with a built-in DAC handles laptop and gaming device connections. The subwoofer output allows system expansion with a powered subwoofer for cinema or bass-intensive listening applications. All of this connectivity is managed through a front-panel multi-controller for volume, input selection, and Bluetooth pairing, supplemented by the included remote control for operation from the listening position.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Totem KIN Play Tower II?

The Totem KIN Play Tower II is a fully powered 2-way floorstanding speaker system designed by Totem Acoustic in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. It integrates a 2 x 200W RMS Class D stereo amplifier into one of the two towers, which drives dual 5" Natural Hybrid woofers and a 1" Infused Soft Dome tweeter in each cabinet, with a frequency response from 30Hz to 22kHz ±3dB. Connectivity includes HDMI ARC, Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD, optical (24bit/192kHz), phono/line RCA, 3.5mm AUX, and AMP IN, with a subwoofer output. The Tower II is sold as a pair, complete with remote control, speaker wire, interconnects, grilles, base, and isolation feet, in Satin Black or Satin White.

What is the AMP IN input on the KIN Play Tower II?

The AMP IN input is a preamplifier bypass that accepts a line-level signal directly into the Tower II's built-in power amplifier stage, bypassing the Tower II's own volume control and input switching circuitry entirely. This input is designed for use with external network streamers such as Sonos, Bluesound, and custom installation systems that manage their own volume control and source selection. When a source is connected to AMP IN, the Tower II's auto on/input sensing detects the signal and wakes the system automatically, allowing seamless integration where the external streamer acts as the system's brain and the KIN Play Tower II acts as the powered speaker output. This configuration allows the Tower II to be added to an existing Sonos or Bluesound multiroom audio system without disrupting the network audio infrastructure.

How does the KIN Play Tower II compare to the KEF LSX II and the Sonos Era 300 as powered speaker systems?

The Totem KIN Play Tower II, the KEF LSX II, and the Sonos Era 300 each represent a different approach to the powered speaker category. The Tower II is a full floorstanding system with 400W total Class D amplification, dual 5" woofers per tower, a built-in phono stage, and HDMI ARC, positioned as a complete replacement for a traditional separates system in a larger room. The KEF LSX II is a compact powered standmount system using KEF's Uni-Q coaxial driver, with a focus on desktop and small-room audiophile streaming applications at lower output levels. The Sonos Era 300 is a self-contained wireless speaker optimised for Sonos multiroom audio and Dolby Atmos spatial audio content, without the turntable connectivity, HDMI ARC, or floorstanding dynamic scale of the Tower II. Listeners who want a powered floorstanding system that handles all source types from turntable to television to streaming without any external components will find the Tower II the most versatile and full-featured option among these three.

Can I connect a turntable directly to the Totem KIN Play Tower II?

Yes, the KIN Play Tower II includes a built-in phono preamplifier. The stereo RCA input is switchable between phono level and line level, allowing a moving magnet turntable to be connected directly to the Tower II without any external phono stage. This makes the Tower II one of the most vinyl-friendly powered speaker systems available, combining turntable connectivity with HDMI ARC for television, Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless streaming, and optical for digital sources — all in a single all-in-one system. The phono input accepts standard moving magnet cartridges; moving coil cartridges with their lower output signals would require a separate step-up transformer or moving coil phono stage before the Tower II's input.

Can the Totem KIN Play Tower II work with a Sonos or Bluesound system?

Yes, the KIN Play Tower II is specifically designed to integrate with Sonos and Bluesound multiroom audio systems via the AMP IN input. Connect a Sonos Amp, Sonos Port, Bluesound PowerNode, or any other streaming device with a line-level output to the AMP IN input, and the Tower II's built-in power amplifier drives the speakers while the streaming device handles source selection, volume control, and multiroom grouping. The Tower II's auto on/input sensing detects the streaming device's output signal and wakes the speakers automatically. This configuration allows the Tower II to function as the powered speaker output in a whole-home multiroom audio system while retaining all of its other inputs for local sources including turntable, TV, and Bluetooth.

Where can I buy the Totem KIN Play Tower II in Toronto or Canada?

The Totem KIN Play Tower II is available at Vinyl Sound, an authorised Totem Acoustic dealer located in Toronto, Canada, sold as a pair. Vinyl Sound can arrange in-store demonstrations of the Tower II with a variety of sources including turntable, streaming, and television connections. Purchasing from an authorised Canadian Totem dealer ensures full manufacturer warranty coverage — two years on the amplifier and five years on the drivers — and access to Totem's customer service support.

"In a moment of clarity, I realized I knew why a good guy would never be enough..."
Format: Kindle
"...Good guys didn't touch you like the bad guys did. They didn't push the limits. Hold you down. Make you insane with need. Make you scream." A spin off from the Crows but it's own story. I've been rushing to get to this book (had some others I had to read first). But I could not hold off any longer. I happily picked it up and refused to put it down. This book is going to pick up where we left off with Becca from the Boys of Briar Hall. She has made her way to SoCal Arts and cut off by her dad. The Kings of Kilburn, also cousins to our Crows, have been asked to watch Becca as a favor. Ava Jade is worried about her. Hardin and Kaleb have their own issues but someone find themselves individually drawn to Becca. And Becca, well her bad guy rep is pulling her to them just as much. What should be toxic, is super HOT. But the Kings have Saint business as well. Damian St Vincent, the ruthless leader of this Saints chapter, also happens to be the boys father. And they are currently being threatened by a new Irish gang, Sons of Sullivan. This threat is unaliving member of the Saints and messing up relationships that have been established. Damian warns the guys to stay away from Becca because with this threat, it could put her in danger if she is a known associate to the boys. But things are never that easy. And lastly, we have would could be a third player. Aódhan. He's Irish and has his own secrets. Also super hot and seems to find himself infatuated with Becca too. But the last chapter, we are going to see inside his POV, and there is more to this Irishmen to come for sure. Cliffhanger! I always want more from Elena Lawson books, but I love them so much I can't wait for the series to be completed before diving in. **READ YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS** Happy Reading Ya'll!

hoping for a little more
Format: Kindle
I was hoping for a little more with this book as I loved the other series in this “world,” and hoping it’ll come in the 2nd book. During this book I kept skipping pages ahead trying to move things along, just didn’t really feel like much was answered or accomplished but I’m sure that was the authors point in trying to build everything up but for me it just dragged a bit…Will absolutely read book 2 to see how it all unfolds.

Can’t Wait For The Next Book!!!
Format: Kindle
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review This is the first book in the new series Kings Of Kilborn University by Elena Lawson and an absolutely fantastic start to the series. This follows after Boys Of Briar Hall Series and we even get to see AJ and the Crows. This is Becca’s story after she left Thorn Valley and it’s one intense ride to say the least. Trying to avoid the gang violence she previously suffered she gets a fresh start and a chance at independence something she’s been desperate for. When she meets brothers Kaleb and Hardin things get absolutely intense. They are the Kings of Kilborn and also her new tormentors and they become absolutely obsessed with her. This is a story you have absolutely got to read. The chemistry between the three is off the charts even though Becca just wants to keep away from them she can’t deny the connection. This book will seriously have you on edge, it’s got violence, gang war between the Saints and the O’Sullivan Sons, lots of twists and turns, and unexpected revelations at the end that will leave you needing book two asap. Am seriously looking forward to finding out what happens next for these characters. Definitely an awesome start to new series. Highly recommend this.

4.5 ⭐ I loved it!
Format: Kindle
Excellent story line. I have loved all in this book whisch was very smart. My favorite gentleman here is Aodhan since the begining I fell for him. The sex chemistry here was amazing! The only thing I did not like was: they talk about class in the university but we never had a scene in that scenario the rest very good.
