The MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Geared 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head Kit from Manfrotto is a three-section support kit that includes a set of legs and a 3-way geared head. It has a load capacity of 8.8 lb and extends from 8.6" to 72". Its' legs are secured by the Quick Power Locks. These updated flip locks increase the tripod's rigidity by 50%, and its load capacity by 4.4 lb over its predecessor.
A redesigned center column has a "one finger" operation, and includes an Easy Link attachment for attaching accessories such as an LED light or a reflector. The center column can be positioned horizontally, allowing for low-angle and macro photography. The upper disc where a tripod head is mounted has been redesigned as well, and now has a bull's eye bubble level that rotates 360° so you can locate it where you can see it. This allows you to level your camera on both the horizontal and vertical planes.
The included XPRO Geared 3-Way Head can hold up to 8.8 lb while weighing only 1.7 lb. It is made from a rigid technopolymer called Adapto that maintains strength without adding excess weight.
The head features micrometric knobs, allowing you to place your camera exactly where you need it. For larger adjustments the knobs can be pressed down against a lever, unlocking the movement of each axis individually. The head has a front tilt range of -20/+90°, a lateral tilt range of -90/+30°, and a 360° pan range. A 200PL quick release plate is included for fast and easy camera attachment and detachment.
