The Shim Jim™ Tab Separator Tool is designed to help autobody technicians easily disassemble the snap-in tabs that secure trim to bumper covers. Typically, a dozen or more tabs need to be pried apart, and some may snap back together while other tabs are being worked on. The Shim Jim’s pistol grip design allows for effortless separation with a simple twist of the wrist.
The tool features three different tip sizes to accommodate narrow, medium, and wide tabs. The tool kit includes 25 specially shaped shims to hold the tabs open. Once all tabs are separated and shimmed, the parts can be easily separated without resistance.
