The Off Grid is Tactile Turn's Spring 2026 Seasonal Release, built on their popular Side Click platform. The design is drawn from the vast deserts and mountainous terrain of the Southwestern United States and the kind of exploration that requires unplugging completely. A mottled sand Cerakote body with metallic copper accents gives the pen a warm, terrain-inspired character. The clip is finished in dark gray with a multi-level laser topographic engraving taken from an actual geological survey of Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas at 8,751 feet. It is a pen that looks like it belongs somewhere interesting.

The Side Click mechanism is one of Tactile Turn's most proven platforms. Push the top button to extend the refill, push the side button to retract it with a satisfying snap. The all-metal mechanism is built to the same standard as every other Tactile Turn product and is covered by the same lifetime warranty. Titanium base with Cerakote paint. Commemorative box and magnet included. Machined in Dallas, Texas.

Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply: The Off Grid is the Tactile Turn seasonal that makes the most sense for our customer base. Western Texas terrain, copper accents, and a topographic clip of Guadalupe Peak on a titanium pen machined in Dallas. It does not get more on-brand for what we carry. These are available for a limited season only. When Tactile Turn closes the run, they are gone.

The Short length at 5.1" is half an inch trimmer than the Standard and the preferred configuration for front pocket carry, smaller hands, or anyone who wants a more compact pen without stepping all the way down to the Mini. It still accommodates a solid range of refills including the included Pilot G2.

What Makes the Off Grid Stand Out

  • Mottled sand Cerakote body with metallic copper accents
  • Gray topographic clip, laser engraved from Guadalupe Peak geological survey
  • Side Click mechanism, all-metal, push top to extend, push side to retract
  • Titanium base, lightweight and corrosion resistant
  • Commemorative box and magnet included
  • Seasonal Release, available for a limited time only
  • Lifetime warranty, machined in Dallas, Texas

About the Cerakote Finish

Cerakote is a thin ceramic coating applied directly to the titanium body of the pen. It is abrasion, chemical, temperature, and scratch-resistant. Hard daily carry will eventually show wear on any Cerakote finish, but it holds up significantly longer than paint and adds no meaningful weight or thickness. The mottled sand finish on the Off Grid is applied by hand and gives each pen a slightly unique surface character.

About Seasonal Releases

Tactile Turn Seasonal Releases are available for a set period of time, not a set quantity. When the season ends, the Off Grid is done. No restock, no second run. If you want one, this is the window.

Lifetime Warranty

Every Tactile Turn pen is backed by a lifetime warranty. If something goes wrong, Tactile Turn makes it right. That warranty is part of why the community keeps coming back to this brand. A pen built to be carried and used every day needs to be backed the same way.

About Tactile Turn

Tactile Turn is a Dallas, Texas pen company founded by Will Hodges. Every pen is designed and machined in-house at their Dallas facility. Tactile Turn built their reputation on tight tolerances, premium materials, and the signature ridged grip texture that shows up on every pen they make. All Tactile Turn pens are backed by a lifetime warranty. Seasonal Releases like the Off Grid are available for a set period of time rather than a set quantity, which makes them accessible without requiring you to fight a drop timer.

Easy To Use
These work great for a really good price. I love using these when I'm making dishes that would be difficult to clean otherwise.

Value, Durability, Everyday Use
What I liked: - Price-to-value is the standout. These were significantly better priced than similar packs I’ve bought from local grocery stores and big discount retailers. - For everyday, disposable use—think casseroles, baked pasta, brownies, roasted veggies—the lighter weight is perfectly fine. - They stack neatly and are easy to store, which matters when you’re buying in bulk. What I didn’t like: - They’re a bit flimsier and not as thick as the store-brand pans I’ve used before. You can feel the difference when you handle them. - For heavier dishes (large lasagnas, big roasts, or anything dense with sauces), a single pan can flex more than I’d like. How I used them: - Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve used these for baking brownies, roasting chicken thighs with vegetables, and prepping freezer meals. When I expected more weight or lots of liquid, I doubled up the pans, which solved the flex issue and kept everything stable. - I also tested bending one to compare sturdiness. In the accompanying video, you’ll see me gently flexing the pan to show the “give.” In the photo, I placed this pan next to a thicker pan I bought at a regular store so you can see the difference in gauge. My takeaway: - If you need heavy-duty pans for very weighty dishes, these aren’t a perfect one-for-one replacement for thicker, premium options. However, for routine baking, storage, and serving—especially when you plan to toss the pan afterward—the cost savings make a lot of sense. - Doubling them for heavier recipes is a simple workaround that maintains stability while still keeping the overall cost lower than buying thicker single-use pans. Verdict: - I’ll be purchasing these again for everyday use and bulk meal prep. The value is strong, and the performance is solid when you match the pan to the job or double up as needed.
