Fresh salmon pink. Delicate and fresh notes of raspberries, strawberries and subtle cinnamon spice. A fresh and lively off dry Rosé with a well rounded palate of fresh summer berries and white pear.
Our Pinot Gris grapes used to make this elegant rosé were selected from vineyards in Marlborough's central Wairau Valley.
The 2021 vintage was blessed with an abundance of sunshine and warmth throughout the growing season with minimal rainfall. This led to lower crop levels with increased intensity of fruit characteristics within the grapes. Ripening steadily throughout the growing period, we kept a close eye on the grapes before selecting the optimum moment of ripeness for harvesting.
The fruit was machine harvested during a cool night at peak maturity. Once received at the winery, the grapes were carefully pressed and fermented in a stainless steel tank at a cool temperature to retain fresh and fruity characterisitcs. After fermentation, a small portion of Malbec was blended with the Pinot Gris to create a delicate pink colour and flavour complexity. Once carefully blended, the wine was fined and prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: An ideal match with spicy Thai red curry, or for sipping in the sunshine with friends and family.
