Die Ursprünge lassen sich auf die Brüder Dominique und Guilhem Armailhacq Ende des 17. Jahrhundert zurückverfolgen. 1855 trat es als „Mouton d’Armailhacq“ in die Klassifizierung ein. 1933 übernahm Baron Philippe de Rothschild das Schloss. Die 70 ha Reben liegen im nördlichen Teil von Pauillac. Der erste Jahrgang, der in der neuen Kelleranlage des Guts ausgebaut wird. Ein Bukett aus Johannis- und Himbeere, Graphit trifft auf süßlich duftenden Tabak verfeinert mit Brioche- und Veilchennoten. Saftig-fruchtig einladender Kern, gut eingebundene Tannine. Am ausbalancierten Gaumen mineralisch-schokoladige Anklänge mit etwas Lakritz, gestützt von seidig-weicher Textur.
